Ally
The atmosphere is heavy, the air in Brooks' master bathroom charged with tension.
My heart pounds as Brooks steps toward the door, his broad shoulders stiff, his jaw tight. I clutch my arms around me, the warmth of the recent moment evaporating under the weight of what I’ve just confessed.
“Brooks, please,” I plead, scrambling after him. The tile floor is cool under my feet, grounding me.
He pauses at the threshold, his hand resting on the doorknob. His head dips, the muscles in his neck straining as he exhales sharply. “I’m fine,” he says, his voice rough, barely above a whisper.
But he’s not fine. I can see the storm brewing in his eyes when he turns to look at me.
“No, you’re not,” I argue, stepping closer. “Don’t leave. Don’t do this.”
He shakes his head, his lips pressed into a thin line. “Ally, what do you want me to say? That I’m not pissed? That I’m okay with this? Because I’m not.”
I reach out, grabbing his arm. His body is warm, solid, but he feels like he’s pulling away from me emotionally. “Stay,” I beg, my voice trembling. “Please. Talk to me. Let’s figure this out.”
His gaze softens for a moment, but it’s fleeting. He looks away, his free hand running through his hair as he sighs.
“Brooks, I didn’t expect this to happen,” I say, my voice breaking. “I didn’t plan for any of this. But I care about you. I care about all of you.”
His eyes narrow, his expression a mix of frustration and disbelief. “You care about me? Really? Because it doesn’t feel like it, Ally.”
I flinch at his words, guilt curling in my stomach like a coiled snake. “I do care,” I insist, stepping closer. “You were my first, and you’ve been so gentle and kind and you’ve taught me so much. I care about you, and I don’t want to hurt you.”
His laugh is sharp, bitter. “Well, mission failed.”
The twins, standing a few feet away, exchange a look. They’re probably absorbing her admission that I was her first.
Tyler, as usual, is the first to break the silence. “Look, man, this doesn’t have to be a big deal. We can all share. It’s not like we’re in a competition.”
Brooks rolls his eyes, his lips twisting into a grimace. “Of course you’d say that. Sharing is your whole thing, isn’t it?”
Tyler shrugs, unbothered, while Nick shifts uncomfortably, his gaze flicking between us.
“Brooks,” I say softly, reaching for his hand. “I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want to lose any of you. This...this is complicated, but it’s real for me. I don’t want to hurt you, but I also don’t want to give this up.”
His eyes meet mine, and for a moment, the anger seems to waver, replaced by something more vulnerable. “And you think this can work?” he asks, his voice low.
Before I can answer, Tyler steps forward, his usual confidence radiating off him. “Of course it can work. We’re all adults here.”
His words hang in the air, and then he leans in, his lips capturing mine in a bold kiss. The heat of it sends a jolt through me, and I can’t stop the soft gasp that escapes my mouth.
Nick is next, his hands brushing against my waist as he tilts my chin toward him. His kiss is softer, slower, and I melt into it, my heart pounding in my chest.
I pull back, my breath hitching as I glance at Brooks. He stands frozen, his fists clenched at his sides. The weight of his gaze makes my skin tingle, and I take a tentative step toward him.
“Brooks,” I whisper, my voice pleading.
His hesitation is palpable, but then he moves, closing the distance between us in one long stride. His hands cup my face, and his lips crash against mine with a passion that leaves me breathless.
The twins don’t seem fazed, their hands finding places to touch my body, but they let Brooks take the lead. For a moment, it’s just him and me, the world narrowing down to the feel of his lips, the strength of his hold.
As Brooks pulls away, his breath warm against my cheek, Tyler and Nick step back in, their touches light but insistent. I’m caught between them, their hands exploring while their lips take turns claiming mine.
Tyler’s fingers trail down my spine, leaving a path of fire in their wake, while Nick presses soft kisses to the curve of my neck. Brooks stands behind me, his hands steady on my hips, his presence grounding me even as my senses spin.
I feel like a queen, the center of their attention, their focus solely on me. It’s intoxicating, overwhelming in the best way.
