“This cabin is too small to hide the smell of anything baking,” Bast says with a grin. “Are you hungry?”

My stomach growls, and I laugh, tears thick in my throat.

“I am, but I may need to fight you for the restroom. I really have to pee,” I say.

Picking me up, Bast gets off the bed and begins to walk to the bathroom.

“I got you, Baby Girl,” he says. “I like it better when I get to carry you around anyway.”

Laying my head on his chest, I grin. I never thought I’d get a chance to experience this again while I was awake. I’ll never complain about him carting me around again.

Three years later

I’m celebrating my birthday and graduation a little differently than I ever thought possible.

“Lorelei Rose,” the Dean of the Chemistry department calls my name with a wide smile.

Walking across the stage, I wave to my screaming mates who also have a two year old cheering in their arms. ‘Why wait?’ extended into a lot of sex the year I woke up in, while also attending classes at the University of Monsters and Education.

Samael simply transported me to my classes or the library, and we continued to live in our cabin. The university said they understood the worry about security and that I didn’t have to live on campus in order to attend classes.

I finished my undergraduate degree in record time, and then completed my masters in a year for biochemistry, so I can continue my experiments to clone my DNA with monster embryonic cells. There’s an entire division of monsters who are deemed infertile in this country, and I’ve been granted the opportunity to change this.

Walking down the stairs with my degree in hand, I gasp when someone grabs my hand. Thorley, my ex-roommate looks up at me with sad and guilty eyes.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, sending an SOS through the bond to Samael. I no longer fuck around with my safety, not even in an effort to be nice.

My mate appears at my back, glaring at Thorley and where he’s touching my hand.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have touched you,” he says softly as he relinquishes my hand. “I wanted to apologize to you for the way Valaria behaved. We were dating for a small period of time, and the shit she’d say was wild. I didn’t realize she was working with President Christa until everything blew up and you pulled out of school. When I was going through Valaria’s apartment to packup her things for the school after she disappeared, I figured out that she was part of this weird hate group.”

I came out into the light about being the only living omega. I had to in order to discuss my DNA and protocol plans to help monsters conceive who wanted to. It’s going to be a hard road, and there will be bumps, but so far I’m optimistic. I have a path I want to follow to help others.

Phenex has been on the news lately too, explaining about the history of omegas and monsters. He says that the misstep society took was keeping their relationships a secret. We refuse to do that.

“Thank you,” Samael says for me as I gape at Thorley. “You couldn’t have known she was part of some insane hate group.”

“No, but she was seriously obsessed with Professor Gorsch,” he says, shaking his head. “She used to make me pretend to be him when I was fucking her.”

“There was something really fucked up about Valaria,” Samael says, gently pushing me into motion. Yeah, I think we’re done here. “Good luck, Thorley.”

“I hope he does some sort of background check on his next girlfriend,” I mutter to him as we leave my ex-roommate behind.

Samael chuckles as we walk, and soon we’re joining our family. Circe waves at me from Phenex’s arms, bouncing excitedly. She has blue skin, violet eyes, and curly blonde hair.

She’s perfect.

“Hey, gorgeous,” I say, hugging her with a smile.

“We go now?” she whispers as she throws her arms around my neck and squeezes.

“We should stay, but…” I trail off, pouting up at Phenex. My mates snicker, knowing that he’s going to cave for me.

“We have a beach vacation to get to,” he sighs. “And a wedding to be a part of. It’s time to make you an honest woman.”

“It may be a little late for that,” I say with a grin.

Samael’s grown in his powers over the last three years. He can now transport all of us together.
