“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“I know it’s probably not my place, but I won’t be able to handle being around your women.”
Ben tilted her head to face him. “For one thing, we don’t have women. I can’t say we haven’t ever had sex, but you’re the only one we could ever love, and since you came into our lives, there will never be another woman. Some of the female pack members bring us meals and clean the place. If that makes you uncomfortable, we can ask them to stop.”
“Let me think about it. Okay?”
He noddedandleaned forward to kiss her lips before releasing her to eat his own meal. When they finished, all three cleaned up, which didn’t take long.
“Let’s go sit on the sofa and talk,” Ben suggested, following her into the living room.
They sat on either side of her, and each put their hands on her. One was on her thigh, and the other took her hand.
“I’m sure you probably have some questions,” Ben said.
“Yes.” She inhaled. “I assume I’ll be staying here.”
Rowan nodded. “Yes. You’ll never be without us. You’ll never spend another night alone.”
She nodded. “Can I get my things from the apartment?”
“We’ll have men go and pack up your things and bringthem here,” Ben told her.
“They won’t know what’s mine,” she said.
“One of us will go with them…”
“But you won’t know either,” she murmured.
Ben squeezed her thigh. “Yes, we will. We’ll be able to tell by your scent what is yours. If we make a mistake, we’ll take it over to where they’re holding Nicole.”
Jenna nodded, but he could tell she wasn’t convinced. He knew with time, she’d know them better than anyone and vice versa. But first, they had to eliminate the threat against her.
Chapter Ten
Jenna leaned back against the sofa.
“What’s your next question?” Ben asked.
“You talked about me living longer.”
Ben nodded his head. “Yes. Not as long as a shifter but much longer than the average human.”
“How long is that? How long is your lifespan?” she asked.
“We can live up to one hundred and fifty years,” Rowan said.
“I’ve known of a few that lived longer than that,” Ben said.
Her eyes were wide. “There’s no way I’ll last that long.”
Just the thought of the world without them gave Jennaa strong sense of panic and muted devastation. It was crazy since she’d just met them, but she already felt a bond grow that she never knew could be so strong.
“How old are you?” Rowan asked.
“Twenty-three,” she said. “How about you guys?”
“I’m sixty-eight, and Rowan is sixty-five,” Ben told her.
