Grace hugged her. “It’s so nice to meet you.”
When she pulled back, Hannah was bleary-eyed too. “The pleasure’s all mine.”
Liam came up beside her and wrapped an arm around her waist.
“You have a fine young man here, Gracie. A fine young man,” Dad said. “This is a real miracle.”
Grace stared up at Liam. The tinted glasses had been lifted, and now all she could see was the truth. What he’d done for her was the kindest thing anyone had ever done for her. He’d shown her his love through his actions and not his words. And now she saw the future—bright, happy, content, and occasionally crazy when her mom would buzz through, but always with Liam at her side.
He kissed her on the top of her head. “Merry Christmas, Grace.”
Merry Christmas indeed.
