“I love you too.”

He growled and thrust harder into me. The aftershocks grew into another full-fledged orgasm and this time, when it hit, I didn’t cover my mouth.

Hopefully, David knew not to come running this time.

Mike pulled out and gently moved me onto my back again. “I need to see your gorgeous face.” His hands brushed the stray hairs off of my forehead before his mouth claimed mine with a brutal intensity, bruising my lips against his as he sank back into me.

I was never coming down from this high.

He looked into my eyes with such love, and knowing that he was the only man who would ever see me like this pushed me into yet another freefall. The room fractured around me, yet his face remained crystal clear.

Grey should’ve made me promise something that would’ve actually required a sacrifice on my part. Taking care of Mike came as easily as breathing to me.

We moved around on the bed, constantly changing positions, but never once looking away from each other. His hands tightened around my face as his body went stiff with his release—filling me entirely—and marking me as his forever.

The road that had led to this moment was paved with tragedy, but I would never regret choosing him. We’d gone through life alone, but now we were a team. Given what we’d already overcome, there was nothing that would stand in our way.

Chapter Twelve

October 2016

I shoved my way into the metal building, taking in the chaos. “Jesus fuck, what the hell happened here?”

Goblin held a gun on a douchebag in a suit—there was no other way to describe the guy. He looked like a spoiled little rich boy; was probably handed everything on a fucking silver platter.

I’d been curled up with my girl, watching theHistory Channelwhen Carnage called. This prick was going to pay for interrupting my night. Lauren hadn’t even gotten a proper honeymoon as the Sons had decided to attackLeather & Lacethe same night we got married.

The morning after my wedding had been spent helping with clean up. Minus a club whore and a prospect, there hadn’t been any other deaths, but the timing was suspect. Grey had been at my wedding. Someone knew that and chose to strike while he was thirty miles away.

As I got closer, I realized who the douchebag was.

Fucking Jackson Blake.

“What’s the matter? Daddy not here to bail you out?”

He spat out a mouthful of blood and laughed. “Fuck you, Sullivan. You can take me down to the station, but you won’t get shit on me.”

Goblin laughed along with him before bringing the pistol down sharply against the back of his skull. “Shut the fuck up. You talk too much. Thanks for getting down here, Mikey. We got all sorts of fucked up shit for you to deal with tonight.”

I saw the puddle of blood and looked back to Goblin. “What the fuck?”

He shook his head. “Shit went south. Dakota shot the cop—”

I held up my hand. “Dakota was here? Start at the fucking beginning, Little Ricky.”

His face lit up. “You called me Little Ricky—not Goblin or kid. Sweet.”

I gestured with my hand to hurry him along. “Sometime tonight would be good.”

He nodded. “Right. Well, Dakota was engaged to thispendejo. And then she was fucking around with Thor until she found out he was a cop. Oh, Grey’s back. He’ll tell you everything.”

I looked over at the door as Grey came back in, missing his shirt and kutte. “You wanna tell me why I’m down here?”

He sighed. “Yeah. One second.” He turned back to Little Ricky. “Goblin, you and Crossbones get this piece of shit out of my sight and back to the clubhouse. I wouldn’t want Jackson’s old man getting lonely.”

At that proclamation, Jackson’s face paled. “I’m not being arrested? Where’s my dad?”

I actually found myself breaking into a wide grin. “I don’t really work like that anymore. I found a better way to deal with guys like you. Saves the taxpayer’s money too.”
