He sighed. “Oh. He’s probably still out in the living room. Want me to grab him?”

I cupped his face in my hand and guided his eyes back to mine. “God no. Don’t stop now.”

He carried me over to a bed that was as big as he was; and I crawled back and spread out, feeling completely ready for everything he had to give. Jimmy watched me with his head tilted to the side as he pulled his tank off, displaying washboard abs and pecs that made me want to rub myself up against him. I wasn’t going to have to trick my body into sleeping with him, it was getting there just fine on its own.

Sex with him was going to be the cherry on top of the sundae.

He pulled his fitted joggers off and I sucked in a breath. I was going to have to retract my statement. There was no way that was going near my lady-bits.

“Um, Jimmy?” I asked weakly. “I don’t…I don’t…”

He shook his head and crawled up the bed toward me with purpose—like a lion going after a gazelle. Or, in my case, an elephant going after a field mouse.

“No way, babe. I’ve dreamt about having you in my bed since the night you tried to kill yourself on the bench press. I’ll make it fit.”

His words sent a message to my brain that flooded my senses with lust and, within a matter of seconds, I couldn’t remember what it was I was supposed to be fighting against.

“Show me that body, Lauren. Let me see you,” he huskily whispered before running his tongue along my jawline as another tingle of pleasure worked its way through my body.

Damn. He was good.

My mouth was dry as I pulled my t-shirt over my head, quickly followed by my sports bra and leggings. I tossed all three over the side of the bed and held my arms up above my head. “Here I am,” I said with a giggle.

Jimmy stroked himself while staring at me. “Come here.”

I crawled over and he pulled me across his chest until I was straddling him. This was it. My one-way ticket out ofSullivanville.

“You forgot your protection,” he said with a smile and I froze.

“You don’t have condoms?” I squeaked.

He shook his head. “No—I mean, yes, I have condoms. You don’t have your gun though.”

I glanced down to see that I still had my holster on, but my gun was locked up in the locker room at the gym. It didn’t matter. I’d get it tomorrow. I shrugged. “I don’t need it for this, do I?”

Jimmy’s hand dug into my hip and he shook his head quickly before his other hand brushed up against my core. I sucked air between my teeth and let my head fall back. His thumb made soft circles against my clit and I rocked into his hand. He slid a finger inside of me and I shut my eyes tightly.

You like that, Red?

“Yes. Yes. Yes. Don’t stop, Mike.” My breaths had grown shorter and the words came out in little puffs. The hand stilled and my eyes flew open. “Why’d you stop?”

“Who’s Mike?” Jimmy’s eyebrows were drawn together in a tight line, his smile long gone.

I shrugged. “I don’t know.” Sensing that it wasn’t going to be enough to placate him, I whispered, “Jimmy…I’m close.”

He bit down on his lip, fighting with himself on whether or not to say something. In the end, his hormones won and his hand began moving inside of me again. I closed my eyes, seeing Mike beneath me, his blue eyes sparkling mischievously. He’d always taken getting me off as a challenge.

One wasn’t enough.

Sparks flashed behind my eyes and I cried out, while clenching Jimmy’s hand between my thighs. The urge to yell Mike’s name was even stronger, leaving me with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

What was wrong with me?

“Hey,” Jimmy whispered and I reluctantly faced him. “You’re so beautiful when you come.”

My lips quivered and I nodded, knowing that if I opened my mouth, the tears would be unleashed along with my words. I didn’t deserve him. I deserved a nice punch in the face. Or maybe in the lady-bits. Maybe it’d reboot her until she wanted to play nicely.

Didn’t she know that Mike was no good for us?
