"I don't like this."

"Will you take the job?"

"Do you have a plan to put me in the right place at the right time?"

"I do. But I'll only share those details if you agree to wait to act until my son's life is in imminent danger."

This was not a good idea. Under normal circumstances she would never agree to a job blind like this. Her gut told her that if she refused not only would Donavan be mad but she would lose the Minetti’s support for the Dark Sons against Petrov.

"Time is running out, Tishina."

She growled her agreement. "I will hold off if I can, but it will be my call."

He gestured to the clearing. "Down below thirty of Petrovs men are waiting to ambush my son and the Dark Sons in about fifteen minutes."

"And you want me to let them?" Anger at the last minute notice had her throat tightening. She was a planner and fifteen minutes was not enough time.

"That is the deal. Tony plans on drawing them all in before the double-cross."

"What the hell am I supposed to do against thirty hostiles?"

She was good but those odds were impossible without a lot more preparation. The sounds of vehicles echoed in the night and she cursed, sprinting towards her car.

"I'll transfer the information to our usual drop box. Good luck."

She popped open her trunk and pulled up the false floor. Her entire portable arsenal including several very illegal high-powered weapons were neatly laid out before her. She grabbed her favorite sniper rifle and the ammunition bag. Knowing she needed to get set up quickly if she was going to be able to do anything to help Highdive and his Brothers.

She cursed in Russian. It would take time she didn't have to locate all the enemies. Minetti's car started and she wanted to scream. Two more guns would be helpful but that would expose Donavan for the meddling father he was.

Fuck!

"Aunt Diana what's wrong?"

How could she have forgotten Nadya was in the back of her car? Taking a deep breath Diana called on her training and sank into the calm she would need to make it through the next hour.

"Grab the spotters scope, choose some weapons and ammo and meet me up there. You will follow my directions exactly or I will hog-tie you until this is over. Am I clear?"

"Y-Yes." All color had drained from Nadya’s face. "But what's going on?"

"We're about to find out if you can put your training to good use."

Chapter11

Never look a gift RPG in the muzzle.

The day had been nothing but one giant SNAFU and it wasn't over yet. Tomasso Minetti had changed the meet up location at the last minute which meant they weren't able to scout the location. Instead of having snipers positioned for backup and well laid out contingency plans they were going in blind with a hastily thrown together strategy if things went sideways.

In the middle of planning they had realized Nadya couldn't be found, costing them precious time looking for her. Hawk was in a volatile mood and wasn't pleased to find out she had stowed away with Diana instead of staying home safe. Highdive was on edge as well not knowing what kind of situation the two women were in.

He hadn't felt this out of control since he'd been a raw recruit. This mission was important but did the benefits outweigh the risks they were taking? Every fiber of Highdive's body said the smart move was to call this drop off, but he had been overruled.

Hawk didn't want them hamstringed by the blowback of not getting the promised equipment if Petrov attacked. It would be days, if not weeks, before they could reschedule and that would only be if Minetti didn't call off the whole thing. Their intel said the Russian was moving on them sooner rather than later.

The new location was perfect for privacy but it sucked for security. Well off the main roads and miles from any houses, but it had too many vulnerabilities. Which was why they had originally gone with the other location. Just the thought of the large clearing in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods caused the strategic side of him to twitch. Hell, there were small cliffs on one side that could hide a hundred snipers.

The best plan he could come up with was to keep ten of the Brothers mobile on their bikes, while Tek and a few others rode in a van using their high-tech shit to try and spot danger. They had two drones they could launch if necessary, but there was only so much technology could compensate for. They needed to make this quick. Take possession of the truck and get the fuck out of Dodge.

The hairs on the back of Highdive’s neck rose almost painfully as they rode down the dirt road towards their destination. The truck they would be picking up was just visible in the distance.
