But now that we had come, our knots had deflated, and we were nothing but a pile of sweaty limbs, I was getting sleepy. So very sleepy. I cuddled up with my mates completely blissed out.

Sure, the sex had been fantastic, and the feeling of marking our omega was—there weren’t words. Our connection changed the second my teeth sunk into his flesh, our bond snapping partially into place. There was more marking to do. When all was said and done, each of us would wear both of the other’s marks, but for now, this would do.

“I could stay like this forever.” I snuggled into them both, somehow ending up in the middle. “Somehow I’m the lucky one to end up in the middle.”

“You are.” Matthew kissed my forehead. “Maybe next time you’d want to be in the middle of Allen and I…during other activities.”

Me in the middle. I hadn’t considered that. Heck, I hadn’t considered any of this aside from the “mate now” feeling that kept frowning. But now that I was thinking about it, I was game. More than game, I wanted to do try it and now.

“But first I want to stay here with you.”

“I go too,” Matthew sighed happily.

“Did you set an alarm?” Allen was looking out for me and I appreciated him for it. He was looking out for Flora.

“It’s set. We have plenty of time.” And even if we didn’t, I planned to make full use of whatever time we did have.

“Good. Then let’s go sleepies.” Mathew let out a yawn. “A couple of hottie shifter wore me out.”

I listened to his breathing even out as he fell asleep. Allen followed less than a minute later, leaving me the last man standing. It wasn’t even that I wasn’t tired or I was too picky about where I stayed, or anything like that. My brain wasn’t ready to sleep, keeping my body awake.

Internally, I’d had a pretty intense reaction when Matthew said he was on birth control. At first I didn’t get it, but the longer I thought about it, the more I realized it was my tiger being a butt and pushing to the forefront. He wanted us to have cubs with our mate. I did too. But that was another conversation for another day.

We already had a family a child with Flora. She might not be biologically ours, but she our child to love and care for. That was something we all agreed on, not the slightest hesitation from either of my mates.

Adding a newborn into th mix this soon, after she lost her mother barely a year ago was asking a whole heck of a lot. She deserved to ease into this new family without the addition of a newborn. Later, we could talk about having the houseful of children Zevo had suggested.

Finally, after what felt like forever, my body allowed sleep to take over. I napped—but not for long. Definitely before the alarm.

I woke up to find my two mates sitting up and talking, with me still sleeping between them.

“Definitely need a bigger bed,” was the first thing I heard Matthew say.

“We fit,” I croaked, my voice still thick with sleep.

“Oh, somebody is joining us,” Allen said, running his fingers through my hair. “You don’t think we need a bigger bed?”

“I’m in the middle. I probably don’t know.”

Matthew chuckled. “Yeah, that’s true. You’re not the one whose ass is half falling off the bed.”

“It is?” I rolled onto my side and pulled him closer. “I officially decided that we need a bigger bed. We are in California, what not start there?”

“We don’t need a new bed. This one fits. I didn’t mind hanging off the edge and, if I ever do, we can get a new bed.” Matthew kissed the top of my head. “I liked watching you sleep.”

“Same.” I sat up, stretching my back.

“So, we did this thing, huh?” I asked, still unsure how much was a dream.

“Mostly,” Allen said. “The mating isn’t complete.”

He wasn’t saying it as a bad thing, mor as an invitation, so I was ready to RSVP with a resounding, “Yes!”

“If only there was something we could do about that,” I teased, slipping out of bed, the exact opposite place I needed to be if we were going to continue our marking fun, and the looks on both their faces was priceless.

“Wait, there is something we could do about that.” Matthew said as I stepped into the bathroom.

“I said if only,” I called over my shoulder and closed the bathroom door behind me.
