“Camila.” He nods with a sexy smirk.

I definitely feel something in my core—a tingling sensation I thought I would never feel again. It has to be the celibacy. There’s no other explanation…right?

“I thought we dropped the formalities,” he says, leaning against my desk, hands splayed in front of me.

The closer he gets, the more intense the tingling becomes. I bet if we were as close as we were on the sofa the other day, my vagina would be vibrating.

I clear my throat and try to calm down a bit before I tell him everything I need to say.

“Right, Vicente.” I give him a smile. but I think it looks funny because his face goes from flirtatious to concerned.

“Is everything alright?” he asks as he moves closer to me.

“Yes, of course. Why wouldn't it be?” I try to shrug, but I probably look like I’m having a heart attack or something.

Before things can get worse, I take a deep breath and stand from my chair. “Vicente.”

I look him in the eyes and they are shining with mirth.

“I’ve been thinking a lot. You know, about the…proposal.” I pause to take another deep breath. “And I have so many questions.”

He smiles as he relaxes and stands to his full height. “Ask away.”

I look at him like he has lost his mind. “Now? Don’t we have work to do?” I whisper-shout at him.

“And who’s going to call us out? The boss?” He raises a brow.

I scoff at him. “Vicente, this is not funny. To be completely honest, I’m so nervous right now, I think I’m going to throw up.”

I slump in my chair and place a hand on my chest, willing my heart to slow down.

Why am I getting so worked up over this? Ha! Maybe because you’re deciding your future and your daughter’s future? You know, no biggie.

“Do I have any meetings today?”

I feel his breath so close to my face, and I jump in place.

When did he get so close?Jesus. My heart is going to explode.

“No. You don’t have any pressing matters today.”

He smiles, and I continue. “Well, except Mr. Durán. He’s waiting for you to get back to him about touring the farms in Colombia. He’s been very emphatic about it.”

I don’t know how he can be so calm right now. We’re about to decide our future, and he looks like we’re discussing the weather.

But the moment he places his hand on my neck and starts giving me a massage, relief washes over me.

Feeling cared for is something I never thought possible. Yet here he is. This man who’s larger than life is trying to calm me down so we can talk.

His sweet and sexy smile combined with the navy blue suit and the pale yellow tie he’s wearing brings the whole package home. He looks delicious.

“I’ll tell you what. We’ll take the day off to talk things through. If you want, we can even pick up Ava from school so she can join us too.”

Why is he so adamant about us? Does he truly care about us?I want to believe it’s true.

“Why don’t we talk and see how we go from there,” I counter.

A wicked smile graces his face. “She’s negotiating.”
