“Actually,” he said. “Iwillfeel you up under the table.”
“That’s better,” she said, her voice a little softer.
He slid his hand up and traced the middle seam of her leggings with his index finger.
“Theo,” she breathed. “I want?—”
“Cocoa?”
They both jerked and looked up.
Henry was standing there with a tray full of mugs.
“Oh, um…” Savannah stammered.
“Yes. Thank you, Henry.” Theo reached out with the hand not settled between Savannah’s legs. He kept that hand right where it was.
Savannah also reached for a mug.
“Do you have peppermint schnapps by chance?” Theo asked.
Henry motioned to the other man circling the room with a tray. “Scott has the add-ons.”
“Add-ons?” Savannah asked, but Henry had already moved on to the next group.
“He’s a man of few words,” Theo said with a chuckle.
“I guess.”
“What would you like?” Scott asked, showing them his tray. There was a can of whipped cream, a bowl of sprinkles, a bowl of mini marshmallows, a bowl of mini chocolate chips, several candy canes, and a bottle of peppermint schnapps, a bottle of caramel vodka, and a bottle of Bailey’s.
“Wow,” Theo said. “This is impressive.”
Scott just smiled.
Savannah reached for two candy canes and the bottle of schnapps. Theo made no move to remove his hand.
Until she was pouring the schnapps. Then he ran his finger up and down that middle seam.
She gave a little gasp and her hand jerked, pouring far more schnapps into her cup that she’d probably intended. She glared at him. He just grinned at her.
He’d told her how much fun he’d find trying to rattle her usual buttoned up, put-together façade.
Savannah pressed her lips together and concentrated on pouring liqueur into his cup. He stroked her through her leggings as she did it. But she executed it perfectly. Though her cheeks were pink the entire time.
When Scott finally moved on, she gave Theo a look. “Things really do always work out for you, don’t they?”
“What do you mean?” he stroked her again and watched her swallow hard.
“You made all those big promises back in Autre but we’reaccidentallyat this lodge. And it’s just luck that Lucy is serving cocoa and has peppermint schnapps.”
He gave her a big grin. “And look.” He tipped his head toward Lucy herself. She was moving around the room with a huge platter.
Savannah shook her head. “Frosted sugar cookies.”
“You remember what I said aboutthose, right?”
Savannah was still looking at the cookies. “I definitely do.”
