He kissed my palm. “Anything else you’ll expect of me?”
“Absolutely.”
“Hold that thought.” He released my hand and stood.
“I’ll come with you.”
“No,” he said. “Stay right there. Promise me.”
“Fine.” I leaned back in my lounge chair and closed my eyes, waiting impatiently. A few minutes later, a shadow fell over me, and I opened my eyes.
Jason sat down on the edge of my lounge chair and handed me a small container of mint chocolate chip ice cream and a spoon.
“Where did you get this? I checked the freezer when we arrived last week, and this wasn’t in there.”
“I had it delivered with the grocery order yesterday.”
I took a creamy spoonful and let it melt over my tongue. “Mmm. How could you keep this from me?”
Jason stared at my mouth, then leaned forward and licked a drop of ice cream off my lower lip. “I was saving it for a special moment.” He kissed me. I savored the taste of him more than the ice cream.
His fingers brushed my neck, then the breeze tickled my nipples.
I looked down at my exposed breasts. “What are you doing?”
With one finger, he scooped out a small amount of ice cream and spread it on one of my nipples.
I sucked in my breath. “That’s cold.”
He sucked the nipple into his mouth and stroked me with his tongue, licking off the cream. I wrapped my hand in his hair.
“Mmm. That’s...” I was panting when he lifted his head. “Let’s move to the screened-in porch.”
He shook his head as he tugged off my bikini bottoms.
“We can’t do this here!”
“Why not?”
“Because...” I couldn’t believe I had to explain it. “Because a boat could come by, and from the right angle, they could see us.”
“There hasn’t been a boat out here in hours.” He bent and kissed my belly and moved down over my hip. “And there are trees blocking the view.” He dipped his finger back in the carton, then parted my knees. “But I’ll stop if you want me to stop.”
I craved the shock of cold followed by his warm tongue. “Don’t stop,” I whispered.
“Careful, Sparks.” He reached between my legs and coated me with cream, and I hissed. “Or I’ll make a bad girl out of you.”
I threaded my fingers in his hair as he moved his mouth over me. “Who are we kidding, Jensen? You already have.”
EPILOGUE
Jason
“Get out of my damn system!”I typed furiously on my keyboard, patching a breach of the firewall around my personal but unclassified files.
I’d been back from suspension for two weeks, and was sitting in the IT room of DC’s HEAT headquarters, which felt like home. Pasco was in intensive training at our facility in LA, and was still managing to be a pain in my ass.
Alder looked up from her screen. “You could write him up.”
