Chapter Nine

Kylie

It had been several weeks since I’d moved into the cabin in the mountains, and it was safe to say that Stephen and I were in a committed relationship.

“Yes! Oh, my God, Stephen… yes!” I cried as Stephen worked his tongue between my legs.

We were back in his hot tub again, which had quickly become one of our favorite places to have sex. We couldn’t get enough of each other, we had sex everywhere we could think of—in the woods spread out on a blanket, in the backseat of my car, and on every surface of both of our cabins.

I was sitting on the edge of the hot tub, with only my calves and feet resting in the bubbling, steamy water. I had spread my legs wide, and Stephen, who was gripping my thighs from the tub, lapped away at my pussy mercilessly until I cried out for more.

He slid a finger inside me, teasing my G-spot until I reached an intense, mind-blowing orgasm.

“Oh, fuck!” I yelled into the night air, my legs trembling as I fell back against his deck in bliss.

Later that night, we went back to my place to make dinner. We fell sleep in my bed to the sound of crickets chirping in the grass outside.

I woke suddenly in the night to the sound of loud voices outside. Terrified, I realized Stephen was no longer in bed beside me.

I jumped out of bed and threw on a robe. I was terrified of what was outside, but my concern for Stephen overshadowed any fear.

“You nasty piece of shit! Almost every night you come up here, with only God knows what in mind, trying to terrify this poor girl. What the fuck is wrong with you? Oh, I’m not going to call the police, I’m just going to fuck you up so bad the police won’t even be able to recognize you!” Stephen was screaming, in a tone of voice I’d never heard him use before. He had a much smaller man pinned against a tree, who was struggling like a fish out of water to get away.

It was Ben.

I instinctively shuddered with fear, but saw that Stephen was far too strong and Ben, with his average build and soft, doughy body, was no match for him. Even with Stephen’s bad knee, Ben didn’t have a chance.

Then I processed what Stephen had been saying.

“Every night?” I blurted in shock.

Stephen turned and looked startled to see me.

“Kylie, go back inside! I’ll handle this piece of shit,” he said, still holding Ben against the tree by his throat.

“Kylie,” Ben screeched, his voice strangled by Stephen’s hold. “Who the fuck is this guy? You fucking slut. You’re cheating on me with this asshole! I’ll fucking kill him. I’ll kill you both!”

He wriggled and writhed against Stephen’s hold. But he was no match for Stephen’s strength or size.

“Go inside, babe,” Stephen said again, this time in an earnest voice.

But I’d had enough. Seeing Ben there, looking so helpless and weak next to Stephen, helped erase the visions I had of him in my mind as some undefeatable monster.

I couldn’t stop Ben from acting crazy. But I could stop him from having power over me anymore.

I marched through the darkness right up to where the two men were standing, reached back my arm, and punched Ben square in the face. He whimpered in pain as I leaned in close, looked him in the eye, and said in a low, even voice, “You pathetic moron. You think you can touch me? You’ll never touch me again, or any woman for that matter. You disgust me. I wouldn’t touch you again if you were the last person on earth. This guy?” I gestured to Stephen. “He’s more than a thousand times the man you’ll ever be. You really fucked up by coming here. Now you can’t escape, and the police will finally be able to get rid of you. I hope you rot in jail.”

Stephen looked on proudly as I used his phone to call the police.

Turning to Ben, Stephen said, “I guess I could stand here and hold you until the police get here, but that’ll take at least a good hour or so and I don’t want to waste my precious energy on you.”

And with that, he smashed Ben’s head against the tree so hard it knocked him out. He toppled to the ground and didn’t move. The silence afterward was deafening.

I exhaled and dropped to the ground myself, crying tears of exhaustion and relief. I knew it was over, and the magnitude of everything that had happened came crashing down over me.

“It’s okay…he can’t hurt you,” Stephen murmured as he sank to the ground beside me and pulled me into his arms.

“Why didn’t you tell me he kept coming up here?” I asked, rubbing my eyes.

“I didn’t want to worry you, and I’m more than capable of handling him myself. He’s lucky I’ve got this bum knee, or I would’ve crushed him by now. I’ve been kicking his ass almost every night. Seeing you stand up to him like that though...I’m not going to lie, that was pretty hot.”

We made coffee inside, since there was no way we’d be getting back to sleep, and saw the flashing red and blue lights of the police cars approaching just as the sun was rising.

The police handcuffed Ben, who was still out cold, and stuck him in the back of a police car. After they took statements from Stephen and me, we watched from the deck as they drove off.

Stephen hugged me from behind, kissed the top of my head, and whispered in my ear, “It’s over. Everything’s going to be okay now.”
