Chapter Seven
Cassie
I really, really needed it to be Friday.
Since Myles and I had hooked up, he was all I could think about. Everywhere I went, I looked for him. Every time the doorbell rang or somebody knocked, I wanted it to be him.
I kept thinking about calling him and faking some kind of pool emergency, just to get his attention.
But I didn’t know what constituted a pool emergency.
And I really didn’t want to look desperate.
But god, I wanted him. I wanted to stop being so distracted. I had a lot to do around the house, and with Myles always on my mind, it was hard to think of anything else.
It kept me from cleaning out Mom and Noah’s room.
Or doing anything else.
I’d barely made it through cleaning out the fridge without crying.
And I really wanted this guy to come over and fuck me again.
At least when we were together, I wasn’t thinking about how fucking sad I was.
Friday finally came. I was sitting at the island in the kitchen, working. From here, I could hear if anyone let themselves into the pool area.
When it happened, I grinned. I was fully dressed, but I had on my sexiest bra and panties under my clothes. I just wanted a good time with Myles to kick off the weekend.
I went out to the pool. “Hey!” I called.
The boy who looked up was definitely not Myles. He was tall and a little gangly, maybe nineteen.
“Uh…hey?”
I blinked. “Oh. Sorry, I was expecting Myles.”
“Oh. No. I’m Eric.” He smiled, looking me over. “Hey, you’re kinda cute. Like…a MILF.”
Oh, no.
I shook my head. “Nope. Don’t talk to me like that.”
Shit. I turned away, hurrying back toward the door.
And almost walked right in Myles.
He’d just stepped through the gate. I stopped short, jumping a little when I saw him.
“Holy shit! Sorry, sorry!”
“Hey, it’s okay!” He laughed softly. “Sorry. Eric’s in training. He’s going around with me for the week to learn what to do.” Myles paused and looked up. “And calling a client a MILF is not what we do.”
“Oh. Uh, sorry, boss.” Eric shrugged and turned to start skimming leaves and other debris off the surface of the water.
Myles shook his head. “Just keep going. I need to speak to Ms. Kidd.”
“Sure thing.”
