Stop perving, Jocelyn.

I really should’ve listened to the voice of reason. Especially when that voice was reminding me that these were Jason’s best friends, and therefore strictly off-limits. I should be glad for my older brother looking out for me, half a world away, at a time when I desperately needed some company. Instead of perving, I should be grateful he was sweet enough to send them my way.

But of course there was another voice; one that was even louder and much more insistent. It was a voice that reminded me I was alone, lonely, and clear on the other side of the planet from anything that resembled home. A voice that kept assuring me that we were grownups now, and we could make our own decisions. Decisions, with a lot of discretion and with a little bit of luck, my brother might not ever find out about.

I relaxed as the voices in my head grew louder, conflicting with each other as the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of spices and sizzling meat. Each voice was making a pretty good case, I had to admit.

I guess it was up to me which one I would listen to.

BISHOP

“Alright now… no peeking.”

“How the hell can I peek?” she laughed. “You blindfolded me.”

I waved my hand back and forth in front of her face just to make sure, then slid both plates in front of her. Jocelyn’s freckled nose wrinkled cutely, as her nostrils flared.

“Taste one, then the other,” Kayden said unnecessarily.

“And then I can devour both?” she sighed.

“Sure. But first, you have to pick a winner.”

Jocelyn reached out clumsily and struck one of the plates, rattling it against a dining room table of black walnut cut from a single slab. Whatever tree died to make it must’ve been hundreds of years old.

Eventually she inhaled one of the burgers. Chewing slowly and sensually, she moaned into the bread.

“Holyfuckingshit,” she murmured.

She took the other one, and ate it just as slowly. She looked sexy and seductive, whether she liked it or not. Maybe it was the blindfold. Or maybe it was the way she was licking her plump, beautiful lips.

“Holy hell,” she breathed, when she could speak again. “Can’t I pick both?”

“No way,” I replied, almost offended. “None of this participation trophy bullshit.”

Kayden nodded his agreement. “Totally. There has to be a clear winner.”

Jocelyn tilted her head, then took bites from each burger again. She sipped her wine to wash it down, and I found myself staring at her long, sensuous throat.

We shouldn’t have brought her here.

Those were Kayden’s words, whispered to me three times so far since we got here. At first I blew him off as being overly cautious. Any danger we faced was still days away, and it was obvious that Jocelyn sorely needed the company.

At the same time though, I also agreed with him.

There were other dangers in bringing our best friend’s sister back to this place, and plying her with wine. For one, I couldn’t stop staring at her. Her tall, voluptuous shape was rounded off in all the right places, and now that she’d fully grown up, she had all the right curves. I kept imagining burying my face in her neck, and pulling her against me. Pressing those beautiful breasts against my chest and kissing her deeply, until my hands wandered down to those perfectly indented hips.

Jocelyn and I had flirted all throughout high school, and even beyond. Each time I came back from deployment the jokes grew bolder, the innuendo more direct. Our eye contact grew into long, lingering staring contests, some of which had progressed from silently undressing one another, to outright challenging each other to make the first move.

Even as Jason’s sister, the truth was, I’d always wanted to take her for a test run.

But then again, so had Kayden.

“Alright fine,” she announced at last. “I’ve made my decision.” Pointing slowly, with one long finger, she tapped the burger on her right. “This one.”

“YES!”
