What would he think once he knew? Would he see her as pathetic?

Those questions were shoved from the forefront of her mind as he continued to feast upon her. His desire was palpable, and Amber’s panties were growing wetter by the second.

She ran her fingers over the ridges of his chest and abs, feeling the muscles poke back beneath the fabric of the black t-shirt he wore. Her hand kept going lower, shoving past the pressure of his weight against her, on her quest for the grand prize.

Finally, she hit those gray sweatpants and sighed as she realized how close she was. A giant smile forced her lips up and she couldn’t help but feel a little silly for being so giddy.

Gosh, he is going to think I’m pathetic!

That fear couldn’t stop her from giggling though as her fingers pressed against the hard bulge.

Sawyer’s breath was warm against her ear as he whispered, “Do you like that, babygirl?”

Amber tried to respond but for a moment the words caught in her throat. Finally, she was able to give a weak response, saying, “Yes, Daddy.”

The thrill of calling him that—and knowing that it was not mere words but he was in fact her Daddy—felt every bit as good as the physical sensations she was experiencing.

“Then—”

A loud buzzing pierced the air, cutting Sawyer’s response off, and making Amber yelp.

“What’s that?” she asked as they both sat up.

He reached for his phone atop the nightstand and groaned.

“What?” she probed again. “Everything okay?”

“Yeah.” He put his hand behind her head and gently pulled her forward. After planting a tender kiss on her forehead, he delivered the news. “It’s your first day at the diner. I set the reminder on my phone so I’d remember to pick you up and take you.”

“Oh, man!” she said with a laugh. “Seriously?”

“Afraid so,” he confirmed with a nod.

Amber fell straight back with a dramatic sigh.

“We have time for breakfast,” Sawyer said. “If we hurry. And you definitely need to eat before you’re on your feet all day with your shift.”

“Yes, Sir,” she said, some habits hard to break. When she thought about it, though, she guessed it fit with him officially being her Daddy now and all.

“Please don’t get me wrong,” she continued. “I’m grateful for the job.”

“I know, honey,” he said as he stood and looked down at her. “It’s just the timing…”

She nodded. “Uh-huh. I was finally going to…” Her eyes went wide as she sat up, realizing what she’d said.

Oh boy. I let it slip. He would have found out soon enough anyway.

A few seconds passed before she worked up enough nerve to look at Daddy. When she finally did, she saw him grinning devilishly as he studied her. The weight of his gaze nearly made her sink back into the bed.

“What were you going to say, cutie?” he asked.

“Uh… nothing.”

His playful smile grew. “Don’t lie to Daddy, baby.”

She groaned, fell back even more dramatically this time, and grabbed a pillow, shoving over her face to hide her embarrassment.

The edge of the bed sank and she knew he was sitting on it now. A moment later, she felt his hand on her shoulder.
