He releases my hair and fists his dick, keeping just the tip resting on my tongue. His eyes gleam and his crooked smile shows a peek of his fangs before he grunts. His come shoots into my mouth. I swallow, some of it spilling down my chin. He catches it and pushes it back in alongside his dick. My tongue swirls around his finger and his cock, savoring the taste of him.

He pulls free, grasping my jaw to kiss me, swallowing every sound of pleasure I muffle into the kiss while Valerian picks up his pace and plays with my clit. I come with a gasp, burying my face in Matthias’ neck, right where I’ve marked him with my own claiming bite. They each carry my possessive mark.

Valerian groans my name like a curse and a prayer rolled into one, slamming into me one last time as he comes. He presses a trail of kisses up my back, then pulls out. He spends a moment forcing his come back in me with his fingers before sprawling on the bed.

“You cheated again,” he says in a rough, drowsy tone.

I flop onto my back beside him, chest heaving. “You never said I couldn’t tag in outside help to stay quiet.” My head turns on the pillow of Vale’s arm to address Matthias when he stretches out on my other side. “Where’s Alder?”

“Fascinated by swimming with sea turtles,” Matthias answers. “He’s going to be pissed when he figures out he’s the odd man out.”

A fond smile curves my mouth. “He’s taking me stargazing on the beach tonight. I’m sucking his cock later. You two aren’t invited.”

Vale makes an unhappy sound, dragging me into his lap when he sits up. “We’re invited if we want to be, mate. Maybe I’d like to watch these beautiful lips stretched for our brother.”

“Agree to go parasailing with me,” I barter. “I told you, I want it to be you. Then you can watch all night long.”

His jaw clenches. “You drive a hard bargain.”

I grin and kiss him. “Thank you. I’ll hold your hand the whole time. We won’t fall.”

He grumbles until I kiss him again, then pats my thigh and gives me a wicked smirk. “I’m ordering Alder to fuck your throat raw tonight for this.” My breath hitches and his luminous eyes glitter with satisfaction. “So perfect for us, mate.”

Matthias takes my hand. “Come on. Let’s head back to the beach. I want to make all the guys there jealous when I rub my gorgeous girl down with sunscreen. Then I want to show you the shells I scored for you.”

Grinning, I slide my arms around his neck and kiss him.

Three Years Later

“Go, go, go!”I tap on Alder’s shoulder to urge him on. The tattoos on my arm shift with my adrenaline, the lily flowers swirling into smoky shapes from my wrist to my elbow.

He cranes his neck, jogging down the narrow path we climbed to get here with me on his back. He’s always been faster than me and grabbed me before I could move. “What made you think you could ride a wild isillion?”

“How was I supposed to know it would try to absorb me through its scales because that’s where it keeps its extra teeth?” I shudder, reliving the moment my hand sank into a slimy mouth lined with sharp teeth. “I thought isillion were like dragons! I wanted to ride a dragon. Come on, that would’ve been badass if it worked.”

Alder shakes his head and moves at an unmatched speed while the beast crashes out of its cave at the top of the mountain. “Next time you want to take some time off for an adventure, you’re going to tell me exactly what your goals are so I don’t have to relive watching you almost get eaten because you’re obsessed with taming underworld beasts.”

A laugh bubbles out of me and I hug him, kissing his cheek. “You love me.”

“Old gods help me, I do, sweet blossom. With every fiber of my being. So much that I let my beautiful mate talk me into dangerous adventures for fun.” There’s a smile clear in his voice. He starts to laugh, deep and full of life. “The look on your face when you climbed on and it woke up.”

My eyes widen as the huge creature takes flight, flapping leathery black wings beneath the blood moon rising in the sky. “I rode the smaller ones in Valerian’s memories! I thought this would be the same.”

“Those are the young!” He throws his head back and laughs harder. “We send warrior scouts into the mountains on missions to collect the eggs and raise them from hatchlings. They never open their scales and the teeth don’t develop. You can’t tame the fully grown wild ones at all, you crazy girl.”

“Less talking, more running for our lives.” I can’t stop another giggle from escaping. “Vale’s going to kill us.”

“You’re on your own there,” he tosses over his shoulder as he twists to fling a fireball to deter the flying beast from snapping its deadly jaws at us.

“I thought you were my protector against all things?” I help him, conjuring a powerful whip made of flames to crack at the scaled isillion when it throws its antler-like horns at the cliff’s edge.

“If he still lets me live after he finds out I let you come up here.”

“I’ll protect you, then.” I crack my whip and tug on his shirt. “Stop for a second.”

“Are you insane?” Alder slows, gesturing at the creature rearing back to attack us.
