“No, but you’re involved with their son. There’s something there, but I don’t know what.”
“It’s his word against theirs,” Jordan commented.
“Stop being an ass,” Sage said.
“He’s right, Sage.” Crystal hated to admit it, but it was true. “To a point,” she clarified. “Brady is an adult in the eyes of the law. But I think we can use it. Brady is a submissive, has admitted he submits to Sage, but his family is trying to use his submissive nature against him.”
Jordan sat forward. “How?”
“Brady told me he went to his family this morning to try one last time to get them to drop this civil suit. They refused, and when Brady went to leave, his brothers attacked him, and his parents stood by and did nothing.”
“He’s not going back to them,” Sage declared.
“No, but he’ll need to go someplace safe.” Crystal was running the possibilities through her head. “Once they realize Brady’s not at his apartment, I don’t trust his family not to stake out your place, Sage.”
“Restraining order?” Sage asked.
Crystal shook her head. “Brady would have to file a police report, and it will take a few days to make its way through the court system.”
“Our hearing isn’t until Wednesday,” Jordan said.
“I know. It gives us a few days to get Brady on board and for us to plan for any issues that could come up,” Crystal said.
“I’ll do whatever you need me to do,” Sage said.
“First, we need a place where Brady can stay where no one will find him,” Crystal said.
“It can’t be anyone from the club,” Sage said.
“You don’t want the club or Max brought into this,” Jordan said.
“I don’t. The club is safe space as far as I’m concerned,” Sage commented.
Crystal thought for a moment. Who did she know that could take Brady in for a few days? “Excuse me for a minute.” Crystal stood up and went into the kitchen. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed. “Hey, Tessa, I have a big favor to ask of you.”
“What is it?”
“Can a client stay with you for a few days? I need a place no one will look for him.”
“Sure. My spare bedroom is available, and I know you wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t important.”
“It is. I don’t want to give the details over the phone. I’ll call you before Jordan and I bring him over.”
“With Jordan, huh? Guess last night was a good one.”
Crystal blushed. “Yeah. Thanks, you’re the best. Call you later.” Crystal hung up the phone and walked into the living room. “My friend Tessa has agreed to let Brady stay with her.” Sage’s eyes grew wide. “No worries, Sage. She won’t take advantage of Brady once I explain everything. Tessa never would. She’s not that type of person.”
“Thank you,” Sage said.
“I’m not sure about this,” Jordan said.
“It’s perfect. No one will associate Brady with Tessa, and he’ll have a place he can lay low for a few days.”
“I still feel like we’re skirting the law and ethics in all this,” Jordan commented.
“It’s obvious Brady’s family has no ethics. I’m not going to let Brady go back to his apartment where they could be waiting. Besides we’re notBrady’slawyers, andBradydidn’t file the suit, so we’re not violating anything. We’re getting Brady out as fast as we can.”
“It’s a good plan, Jordan,” Sage said.
