“Damn, you are so sweet.” His lips met hers in a languid kiss. When he lifted his head, his eyes were a bit unfocused.

“I hate to ruin this, but my fingers are tingling. Though it could be from the orgasm you gave me.”

“You do have the expression of a well-fucked, very satisfied woman.”

Her cheeks flamed as she rose up and nipped his lips.

“Witch.” Jordan rose. He released the restraints and massaged her arms. “Better?” She nodded. “Good. Be right back.” He went into the bathroom and disposed of the condom and returned.

Jordan laid down next to her and pulled her into his arms. “You are special,” he whispered.

“I think you’re the special one.”

Their lips met in a soft, afterglow type of kiss. Crystal parted her lips and nipped at his mouth. Jordan pulled back and stared down at her. “I want to play some more.”

“Let’s.”

The tone of his cell phone cruelly and abruptly interrupted their plans. Jordan groaned but ignored it. He played with Crystal’s nipples, watching them harden. His phone went off again, and he ignored it. By the third time, he realized it had to be important.

With a groan, he sat up and reached for the device. “Frost here.”

“Oh God, Jordan. I need you.”

“Sage?” He could barely understand her through her tears.

“It’s a mess.”

“What’s a mess?” Jordan cradled his phone as he sat up.

“Everything.”

“Where are you?”

“At home. Get here as fast as you can. I can’t do this anymore.”

The line went dead, and Jordan swore. He turned to Crystal. “That was Sage, something’s happened.”

“Do you know what?” She was already moving to stand.

“No. She just said she can’t do this anymore.” Jordan ran his hand over his face. “What the hell could be going on?”

“Let’s get dressed and go find out.” Crystal was already halfway across the room to the bag she’d packed for last night.

“Agreed, but—” Jordan hesitated.

“What is it?” Crystal moved to his side.

“What if she’s suicidal? Shouldn’t I call emergency services?”

Crystal tilted her head. “Sage doesn’t strike me as someone who would take her life. We talked a lot last night. I think she’s tired of this trial and being apart from Brady.”

“True, but I’m worried.”

Crystal walked over and put her arms around him, hugging him. “Then let’s get moving. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can find out what is going on with Sage.”

“You’re right.” He squeezed her close for a minute, then released her. “Go clean up, I’ll use the guest bath.”

“I’m willing to share.”
