Instantly, her bones weakened, and Tessa grabbed onto his shoulders to keep from falling. “Oh Lord,” she whispered.
“So sensitive.” His hold tightened. “I like that.”
“Sir, please.”
His free arm went around her waist, pulling her to him. “Trust me, sweetie. I won’t let you fall.”
Instinctually, she knew that, but what about betrayal? Where the hell was that coming from? Tessa’s heart pounded. It must be residual fear from the reporter Wednesday night. Damon had never given her any reason to think he would betray her.
Damon’s deep voice broke through her thoughts. “Where are you, sweetie?”
“Sorry, Sir.”
“Are you okay?” He let go of her neck and pulled her tighter into his embrace. “We don’t have to do this.”
“I’m fine, Sir.” She gave him a smile. All her thoughts about the reporter could wait. She tucked them away.
“Are you?” Damon stared down at her, his blue eyes filled with concern.
“Yes, Sir.” Tessa lifted her chin. “I want to do this, Sir.”
He studied her for a moment, then released her. “You have safe words, so use them if needed.”
She nodded.
“All right. I want you to undress and get on the bed.”
Tessa pulled off her t-shirt as Damon opened the bag. “What’s in the bag, Sir?”
“Toys.”
She slipped off the rest of her clothes and lay down on the mattress.
“Where are the restraints I gave you?”
Tessa sat up.
“No, stay on the bed. Tell me where they are, and I’ll get them.”
Heat filled her face.
“Now that’s an interesting shade of red, my Tessa.”
Oh crap. Why had she put the restraints in that drawer? Her toy drawer. Well, not completely toys. Her vibrator was in there, along with books she didn’t share with anyone. And of course, the restraints were there.
“Please, let me get them, Sir.”
“Why are you embarrassed?”
Tessa closed her eyes. “I…” She reached down and pulled the comforter over her body.
Damon crossed the room and sat next to her on the bed. “Tessa?” He cupped her cheek.
“Sir…” she started.
“No more sir; this is Damon and Tessa now.”
She leaned her cheek into his palm. “I know I shouldn’t be embarrassed, but I am.”
