“Don’t cry,” Rosalie said. “Otherwise, I will cry.I wish my mom was here.”
“So do I.”
There was a sudden throat clearing and Petallooked up to see her father. “Dad.”
“Hey, Sweetheart,” he said.
“What are you doing here?”
“You don’t think you’d get away with marrying thelove of your life and your whole family wouldn’t come to see that happening.Your mother is keeping control of the kids, George is here, and well, we’re allhere for you.”
Petal held onto her father, and she truly couldn’tbelieve her family was here. Looking over her shoulder she mouthed the words toRosalie, “Is it safe?”
Her best friend gave her a thumbs-up.
“Are you ready?” her dad asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m ready.” Petal swiped at her eyes, thankful the tears had yet to fall. She could do this. This was a piece ofcake.
They stepped through the doors, and she focused onDirty. He was the unexpected love of her life. She couldn’t help but flashthrough the memories she had with him. Being on that cruise ship with Gabrielleand Kim. His constant company, which at first was unwelcome, and then somethingshe began to look forward to. The way he took her cell phone from her and toldher she had to focus on him. Their first time together, how scared he looked, that soon turned into something else.
There was so much they had shared in such a short amountof time—good and bad—and yet, as she walked down to him, she knew this was whatshe wanted.
Dirty was her man, just as she belonged to him.
Epilogue
Ten Years Later
“Do not give that attitude to your mother, do youhear me?” Dirty asked, shouting upstairs.
He saw Petal wince as the bedroom door slammed. Marcowas getting on his last nerve. His son was becoming a pain in the ass, and fora ten-year-old boy, that was saying something. If Marco didn’t open that doorin the next second, he was going right up there and teaching him a lesson.
“Sorry, Dad,” Marco said, as the door opened.“Sorry, Mom, I didn’t mean to say it like that.” He came to the top of thestairs. “It’s just that everyone is going to be there. Gabrielle is going, everyone. Even Leanna might be there.”
And there it was. Although Leanna was five yearsolder than his son, it would seem his boy had developed a crush on the oldergirl, and tended to act like a moron around her.
Of course, Tyler and Nate were more than happy towhistle. He glared at his twin eight-year-old sons. They were identical andmore than a handful. Thankfully, they were more interested in bikes than ingirls.
As for his other children, they were in thekitchen with their mother.
They had six children. Two sets of twins, and thenMarco and Lexi, who was approaching one year old.
“Shut up, morons,” Marco said.
He didn’t know how he got so lucky with hisfighting kids. Colt’s kids seemed to be angels. Maybe he and Petal should havestopped at five, but then Lexi had come along, and well, he loved having kidswith his wife. Also, he should have known it would be easy to get her pregnant. She followed in her mother’s footsteps, only not quite. He never allowed her tosink. With the club, Kim, and himself, as well as Rosalie and Colt, Petal wasnever on her own, and besides, she also had her mother.
Since having children, Petal had gotten closer toher mother, as she understood to a certain extent.
“Do you want to be writing lines, or how about Itake you all to the clubhouse and have the guys watch you stand with your noseup against the wall?” Dirty had resorted to that, especially when the boyshadn’t stopped fighting one another.
There was a second’s pause and his boysapologized.
“Good, now get ready, and be down in time fordinner. I want washed hands and smiles on your faces. Anything less, and you’lldeal with me.”
His kids left, running upstairs, apart from Lexi, who was in her high chair, looking adorable.
“He is going to get his heart broken,” Petal said.“Leanna sees him as a little brother.”
