She looked at me and smiled. “How are you feeling?” she asked, pulling a towel off my forehead.

“Better. My head isn’t hurting. Just tired. What happened?”

“Well, when I couldn’t understand what you were saying, I told you to send me your location. When I got here, your car was on, and the door was open. So was the garage. I cut it off and came through the garage door. You were on the floor so I got you to get up briefly so we could get you in bed. After that, you threw up again and went back to sleep.”

“Damn.” I ran my hand over my face and sat up against the headboard. “I’m sorry, Luci. For having to cancel the date and for forcing you to deal with this shit.”

“You have nothing to apologize for at all. I was so worried about you. Do you have migraines often?”

“Unfortunately, yeah. They are stress and tension migraines, so any time shit is going on with my family I have them. If I catch it quick enough, I can calm myself down and avoid them, but today that wasn’t the case.”

Sitting on the side of the bed, I took a few breaths to make sure my head wouldn’t start throbbing when I moved. When I was sure it was safe to do so, I got up and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and washed my face then took a shower. After I was done, I found Luci stepping into her shoes.

“Where you going?”

“Now that you’re okay, I figured I’d get out of your way.”

“I want you to stay. At least let me feed you because I know you probably haven’t eaten all day.”

Her head lowered briefly as she smiled. “I had spinach and bacon for breakfast.”

Grabbing my phone, I checked the time. “It’s eight in the evening, sweetheart. It’s past time to eat again.” Bypassing the calls and texts from my mother and Remedy, I asked, “What do you want? We can do takeout. I’m too tired to cook, and after what you’ve done for me, I’m not going to let you.”

“Hmm… I’m not particular, but I love a good burger and fries on my cheat days.”

“Cool. I’ll order us some burgers and milkshakes fromA Good Burgerand have them delivered,” I said as I got back into bed.

“Ooh I love their burgers. I didn’t know they delivered.”

“Usually they don’t.”

She chuckled as she cuddled up next to me. “You have a beautiful home from what I’ve seen. I didn’t snoop around. I just came through the kitchen and up the stairs because I figured that’s where your room was.”

“You could’ve looked around. I’ll show you around after we eat.” Tilting her head, I kissed her lips three times before slipping my tongue inside. The only reason I pulled away was because she moaned and cupped my neck, and I didn’t want things to go further. “I’ve been waiting to do that all day.”

“Same.” She agreed before wrapping her arm around me and kissing my chest. “You sure you’re okay? I can tell you’re tired by how you look and sound.”

“I’ll be fine by morning. These migraines aren’t new.”

“Do you… want to talk about whatever happened today that triggered it?”

Releasing a long breath, I shook my head. “One day, but not tonight. I don’t want to risk getting another migraine. It’s typical family drama though.”

She didn’t press the issue, which I appreciated.

“Are you comfortable?” I asked, wrapping my arm around her. “You wanna take this off?”

Luci smiled as she sat up and looked at me. “Sincerely, or are you trying to be nasty?”

I laughed for what felt like the first time today. “As much as I would love to be in your pussy, I’m honestly drained. I want you to stay, so I need you comfortable. Did you bring your bag? If not, you can put on one of my shirts.”

“Yes, I have my bag, but I’ll put on one of your shirts. It’s still in my car.”

“Cool, I’ll grab it when the food gets here,” I told her as I got out of bed to get her a shirt.

I watched as she wasted no time undressing. This woman’s body was a fucking masterpiece. As much as I wanted to feast on her, I didn’t want to risk overdoing it. I wanted to take her out tomorrow to make up for today.

At the edge of the bed, I held the shirt up and told her, “C’mere.”
