“What would you like me to say?” I reply to her without looking her way.

She huffs. “I don’t know. Anything…”

Anger floods through me and I can’t help myself. Normally I am a master of keeping my emotions in check, but this woman has gotten under my skin already. I just met her, yet I feel like three days of combing the internet of every little detail concerning her has me coming unhinged. I turn towards her and slam my hand above her shoulder, caging her against the wall of the elevator. She shrinks away from me; the motion causing my dick to stir.

“If you think for one second you’re going to just waltz in here and derail this company, you have another thing coming. I have spent every waking moment preparing us perfectly for the future. I won’t have some inadequate woman coming in hereand flipping over everything we have worked for.” I slam my hand above her again to get my point across. She flinches before glaring up at me.

“What the hell is your problem?”

Her tone surprises me. She went from a timid little kitten to a raging kitty with her claws out in no time flat. If my dick wasn’t hard before, it certainly is now.

“You. Are. My. Problem.” I lean in close as I grit out the words.

Her features soften, and she places her hand on my suit in a calming gesture.

“Look, I’m sorry. I’m freaking out here, okay? I have this perfect job that landed in my lap and I don’t want to screw it up. I really need this. You don’t understand. Could we just start over?” She bites her lip and blinks a few times while looking away. Fuck, why do I feel so indecisive right now? I shouldn’t be letting her fake show of tears affect me. It’s not the company's problem. Before I can respond, the elevator doors ding, letting us know we have hit our floor. I quickly turn back, standing up and straighten my suit jacket. I don’t care how beautiful this woman is or what sob story she gives. She is not staying.

“Don’t get comfortable,” I say without giving her another look before exiting the elevator and making my way to our meeting room. Sebastian, Andre and Jonathan are all already inside conversing.

“I have been trying to contact you all morning, Sebastian,” I say as I pull my chair out and sit down.

“I was in the gym. Figured it could wait until work, no?”

I stare at him without responding.

He gets the message loud and clear before leaning back in his chair. “Okay, Jamison. Lay it on me.”

Before I get the chance to start the conversation, the little devil herself makes an appearance with Xavier in tow.

“...and I promise, you are going to love it here. Don’t believe the tabloids. The Men of Bolt Corporation are harmless,” Xavier says, laughing. We all stand up and I glare at her. She looks at me and then looks over towards Jonathan and her eyes go wide. Surely this woman has seen twins before.

“Pretty Girl?” Jonathan asks. I look over at him quizzically before looking back at her. She stands there like a deer caught in headlights.

Xavier laughs, breaking the silence. “You two know each other?”

Suddenly, it all clicks together. My brother’s incessant chatter all day yesterday about the sexy bartender he dubbed Pretty Girl because she wouldn’t give him her name. He went as far as going back to the bar last night to try to find her again. He came home acting like a kicked puppy when they informed him that Saturday night had been her last night working there.

“We met a while back,” Jonathan says nonchalantly when he realizes everyone is staring at him.

“Umm okay,” Xavier says. “Everyone meet Charisma Fields. She is our new head of Human Resources.”

“Thank you," she replies. “You can just call me Kaz.” She looks over at Jonathan quickly as she says it before looking around the room to everyone else except me. She’s avoiding eye contact. I look over at my brother, who practically has stars in his eyes. I’ve never seen him look this way and I don’t like it. He doesn’t need some woman coming into his life and turning it upside down.

“Okay, now that that is settled.” Sebastian says as he rings in his assistant and tells her to come up to the meeting room and show Kaz to her new office. “What was it you wanted to discuss that was so important, Jamison?”

Kaz's eyes shoot towards me and she stares at me, silently pleading. My brother is still looking at her like she’sair and he’s drowning. Her pouty lips push out nervously and images of her wrapping them around my dick while Jonathan fucks her blow through my mind. Suddenly, I’m at a loss for words.

“It was not important. More research is needed before we speak further,” I reply, not taking my eyes off of Kaz. I see her visibly relax before closing her eyes for a second and breathing out. Blakely, Sebastian’s newest assistant, appears before guiding Kaz out the door. She looks at both my brother and I over her shoulder as she walks out and the door closes behind her.

“Head of HR is off limits, boys,” Sebastian states, causing Andre to groan.

“Really Sebastian? You know I love blondes,” Andre says, causing him and Xavier to laugh.

Jonathan’s knuckles go white as he grips the chair beside me. I can feel his jealousy ripple through me, almost as if it were my own.

“Off. Limits.” Sebastian says again. “The tabloids have been having a heyday with our company recently, and we’re too new to be grabbing this kind of attention. I already had to pay off your last assistant, Andre. She threatened to sue us through our rival firm for your little charade you pulled last month.”

“She wanted to suck me off. I didn’t think she would care that I invited someone else to come in and help her out,” Andre says laughing.
