A blush crept over her cheeks.

Could she?

The thought made her squirm, but at the same time, a strange kind of happiness settled inside her. Greyson had put her in it forthisreason, to keep her comfortable, to keep her safe from accidents.

She bit her lip, hesitating.

Then, finally, she let out a small breath andrelaxed.

Warmth spread beneath her, soaking into the thick padding, the release easing the pressure. A soft, involuntary sigh escaped her lips as her body melted further into Greyson’s hold.

The diaper held everything, just as it was meant to, leaving her dry and snug.

As she drifted back into sleep, the last thought in her mind was how much she wished things could stay exactly like this.

Lily stirred, stretching slightly before realizing she was still wrapped securely against Greyson’s firm chest.

Her eyes fluttered open to look at him. He was already awake, watching her, his deep brown eyes filled with something unreadable.

For a moment, neither one of them spoke.

She was so warm, socomfortablein his embrace. It was the perfect way to wake up.

“I missed you,” she finally whispered.

Greyson let out a soft breath, his grip tensing around her momentarily. “I missed you too, babygirl.”

Lily swallowed, emotions pressing against her chest. “Did you ever think about me?” she asked, tracing a slow pattern against his shirt with her fingertip.

“Every day,” Greyson admitted without hesitation. “I wanted to ask Carly if she’d seen you, but I didn’t. I didn’t want to know if you’d found a new Daddy.”

Lily blinked up at him, surprised by his confession. “You didn’t?”

“No,” he said, shaking his head slightly. “I couldn’t. It would’ve been too hard to hear. I left. I didn’t have a right to know what happened after that.”

Her heart squeezed at his words. “I tried,” she admitted softly. “Over the years, I tried to find a Daddy. But none of them ever felt right.”

Greyson’s jaw tightened slightly, his fingers flexing against her waist as if restraining himself from saying something. Instead, he simply exhaled slowly, nodding. “I get that. No one could ever replace you either, babygirl.”

Lily bit her lip, hesitating, before asking, “What was it like? Being in the military?”

Greyson’s expression shifted, something heavy settling in his eyes. “It was an honor to serve,”he answered steadily. “To protect my country. To do something bigger than myself.”

He paused, his thumb brushing absently against her arm. “But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t regret leaving you. You were the hardest thing I’ve ever had to walk away from, Lily.”

Her throat tightened.

She reached up, resting a hand against his cheek, enjoying the warmth of his skin. “You came back,”she whispered.

Greyson leaned into her touch, his eyes never leaving hers. “Yeah, I did,” he said, voice low. “And I’m not walking away again. Not unless you ask me to.”

The security of Greyson’s arms around her, the steady beat of his heart beneath her cheek was everything Lily had longed for without even realizing how much she needed it.

She barely had time to process the weight of his words, the promise in them, before he tilted her chin up with two fingers, his touch gentle yet firm.

Her breath hitched as she met his gaze, dark and full of something deep, somethingundeniable.

And then he kissed her.
