“Please, baby.” I grabbed her hand and held it right at the tip of her finger, ready to slide it on the second she said yes. I wanted her to know I was serious.
“Is that really what you want?” Her eyes were wide with disbelief.
My heart ached.
“It is. More than anything,” I confirmed, praying she’d believe me, praying I hadn’t jumped the gun and asked too soon.
“Well then…” The corners of her mouth lifted into a smirk, and she tapped her chin as if considering. Finally, she grinned. “If that’s reeeally what you want, you know what you should do?”
“What, baby?”
Anything. I’d do anything. Whatever she wanted. Anything she needed.
“You’d better…” she tapped her chin again and grinned before finishing, “make me. Because in this house, we follow Daddy’s commands.”
I laughed, shook my head, and slid the diamond on her finger. “Well then, I command you to make me the happiest manon earth and accept my marriage proposal. Let me spend the rest of our lives proving just how worthy you are.”
Her eyes sparkled, then filled with tears, and she nodded. “Yes, Sir, Daddy Sir.”
The End
