“What?” she asks, searching my eyes.

“They ask me if I make a lot of money doing it. Or, they ask if they can come to bed with me. You–” I say, bumping her nose with mine, making her smile. “You told me it was beautiful.”

CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

LUKE

Sebastian pulls into the driveway of the cabin, and I glance back to see Ava, Jace and Ryan starting to stir. I only managed to stay awake because I’m just as wound up as Sebastian after seeing the footage of how many men were heading up the elevator to our penthouse before the cameras went black. And Colton mentioning broken glass meant that it was a close fucking call. If we hadn’t called him when we did, or if he hadn’t got his ass in that helicopter fast enough…Fuck.

I’ll have to remind myself to never tease that man for his mode of transportation again. And Sebastian and I will probably never be this far from Leena ever again either.

I shoot a text to Colton and Leena, letting them know we’re here. A second later, I frown at the response.

“What?” Sebastian asks, looking over at me. I glance back at our team who are already unloading their bags from the back.

“Colton says Leena’s asleep and our bags are just inside the entryway.” I frown.

“So?” he urges.

“He also said that he’s sorry he can’t help us carry shit, and he’ll explain when we get inside.”

“Fuck. You think he’s hurt?” he asks me. I stare back, because I fucking hope not. If he is, that means we were the ones who sent him into a firefight.Alone.

When we all step inside the cabin, I take in the familiar scent. Sebastian and I haven’t been here for a while. We need to make the time to come back again with Leena after we find her sister.

“Alright, looks like the first bedroom is occupied, but there are two more down the hall, a bed in the loft and the couch. Make yourselves at home. We’ll head out in the morning,” Sebastian tells the team.

“I call the loft!” Ava says, making her way up the stairs just as Jace falls face first onto the couch. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already asleep.

“Night, guys,” Ryan says, heading down the hall.

“Night,” I reply.

I glance at Sebastian as we pick up our bags and there’s a mutual unease between us for a brief moment before we head toward the closed door of the first bedroom.

When I step inside, Colton is awake, lying shirtless on top of the covers. He’s on his back and all propped up in a way that can’t possibly be comfortable. Leena is sound asleep, curled up in a blanket at his side. I let out a breath at the sight of her, seeing her safe. Then I notice the design on the back of her T-shirt peeking out from the covers.

Colton’sT-shirt.

I glance back at Sebastian. He notices it too.

Sebastian closes the door behind him, then drops his bag in the middle of the floor, walking past me.

I pick it up, setting it next to mine against the wall.

Then I stare at it, wondering when in the fuck I became this man’s goddamn maid.

I glare up at him, and he smirks over his shoulder, giving me a subtle wink.

Dick.

“What the fuck happened?” Sebastian asks Colton in a low enough tone so as not to wake Leena.

“Nice to see you guys, too,” Colton says, then winces as he struggles to sit up.

And I swear I lose ten fucking years off my life when he does.

Sebastian is at his side in a heartbeat.
