Chapter 1

Xander

‘Holy crap, this needs to be finished by when exactly?’ I explain, shooting a hard look over toward my friend and workmate Lane. ‘Andhoware we meant to do that exactly?’

To be perfectly honest, not much phases me.

But this… this is wild with a capitalwhat the hell?

I might be one of the founding members of the Blue Collar Boys, but this job looks like it could potentially be the breaking of us.

I’m talking all the classic signs of a tough project…

Multi-millionaire super-demanding client? Check.

Crazy high expectations? For sure.

Insanely tight completion schedule? You bet.

But if I know one thing, it’s that me and my fellow Blue Collar Boys will somehow come out on the other side with a completed project. We might all be Littles, but when it comes to construction we know our stuff and we know how to get shitdone.

I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t always easy trying to establish a reputation as a Little in the construction industry – I mean, it’s so freakin’ macho!

But what I and my fellow Blue Collar Boys wanted to prove to the world was that we were more than masculine enough to compete with the typical construction companies that are stacked to the ceiling with the biggest, toughest Daddies around.

We might be boys, but we don’t take any crap.

Anyway…

We’ve built our reputation up from the ground and now more and more people come to us as their first-choice construction crew.

But even for us, working with a retired soccer star is something new. I’m used to meeting construction goals and now I have to work for someone who’s more used toscoringthem.

I can’t say that I’ve followed soccer much over the years. My sports were always football and ice hockey. Maybe a little bit of basketball too. But soccer always seemed like a rich kid sport, the kind of game they played up in the private schools along with lacrosse and water fuckin’ polo.

But I’ve always known one thing… soccer is big bucks.

I was away on another job when Lane did the negotiations with the client so I haven’t met the so-calledsuperstar of soccerReece Bellham yet – and it’s something I’m not especially looking forward to either given how tough a task it will be to get this job done within the agreed timeframe.

I need to hear some kind of explanation from Lane. He’s a chill guy, always happy to roll with the punches. But that does meanthat from time to time Lane bites off more than he can chew. And I’m beginning to wonder if this Reece Bellham project could be seriously bad news.

The last thing you want as a construction company is to get a reputation as a crew who doesn’t finish on time.

So far, the Blue Collar Boys have got every damn project finished before the deadline and it’s important that we keep that winning streak going.

‘Yo, Lane, I’m being serious!’ I holler, waving over toward Lane to try and grab his attention. ‘We need to do this bywhen?’

‘Relax, bro,’ Lane replies, his strong arms flexing as he walks toward me. ‘You’re the master when it comes to bringing a job in on time, you’ve got this.’

‘I’vegot this?’ I reply, rolling my eyes. ‘I think you meanwe’vegot this. But whatever, I think we can do it. When the Blue Collar Boys are involved, it means there’s always a way.’

Lane stands next to me and we survey the site – and it’s not too often you get two Littles who are as big and strong as us looking out onto a construction site and feeling small.

Most people who know a little bit about the whole Little and Daddy culture often assume that all boys are small, slender, and typically do arty jobs or work in offices – no surprises here but the Blue Collar Boys don’t meet that stereotype!

Like Lane, I’m over six feet tall and built with enough muscle on my bones to intimidate the beefiest club doorman.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t want all the things that other Littles desire too… I’m talking bedtime stories, snuggles, andthe fluffiest diapers for my big, strong butt – oh and if there’s a Daddy there to help, then I’mtherefor it!
