CHAPTER 13 – Viv
When we got back to the palace, Brendon took me to my room. I was there for all of a minute and a half before I was out the door and across the hall, pounding on his door.
He yanked it open; his shirt was half unbuttoned so I could see the ridges of those amazing abs. If men could be beautiful, Brendon’s body was truly a work of art.
“Viv, what’s wrong?”
He grabbed my arm and pulled me inside of his room. I smelled him everywhere. The spicy scent of his cologne and the raw male magnetism that constantly had me on alert.
“Nothing, everything, please don’t make me stay in there alone.”
I hated sounding like such a wimp, but I was truly scared of Malcolm and Cian.
Brendon let out a shaky breath and ran a hand through his hair.
“Okay, just wait here for a minute.”
He went over to the door and slipped out. Before I knew it he was back with two bags of blood.
He grinned at me sheepishly, “I figured that we shouldn’t tempt fate.”
There was a knock at the door followed by Ace yelling.
“Oi! Let me in, I know she’s in there!”
Brendon opened the door, and Ace took in the two of us. He was standing there awkwardly on the threshold as if he wasn’t sure about his reception.
“So, you two want to explain to me what’s going on?”
Brendon handed me a bag and placed the other to his mouth, draining it quickly.
“I am going to get a shower. Viv, you can fill him in?”
He threw the bag away, and then yanked off his shirt as he walked toward the bathroom. My eyes couldn’t help but watch every nuance of his back muscles as he tossed his soiled shirt into the laundry basket.
“Take a picture; it will last longer.”
I flushed, turning to Ace, who was smirking at me with that stupid, knowing look of his.
“Stop!” I swatted at him.
Ace flipped his imaginary hair back and spoke in what I had to assume was my voice.
“Oh, Brendon, you are so sexy! Let me just eye-fuck you all the way to the bathroom.”
I laughed and smacked him again in the shoulder. “It wasn’t like that.”
Ace rolled his eyes. “So, what do you need to tell me?”
Over the next twenty minutes, I told Ace what happened when I went to Cian’s room. I left out most of the time I was with Brendon. I was still processing a lot of that.
“I just didn’t want to stay alone,” I said feeling slightly stupid now that everything was okay again.
Ace nodded, “I get it. There are two of us, so there is no need for you to be alone. You can stay with Brendon one night and me the next. I mean, if you want to.”
I placed a hand on his arm, “I do, thank you.”
The bathroom door opened and Brendon came out in some pajama bottoms and a fitted t-shirt. He tossed a shirt at me and some boxers.
