Page 27 of Becoming Super

I had a fleeting thought that we were essentially attempting Niagara Falls with a canoe, only a million times worse.

“The Seran have stopped pursuit, Captain.”

But there was nothing that could be done. The gravitational pull had sucked us into the Supernova and we were on our way to Wonderland or wherever black holes took you to.

A part of me wondered how this was the better end of the stick? Another wished to hell that we weren’t hanging upside down. My head was starting to pound like it might blow up. Visions of popping heads filled my mind, not giving me any comfort.

And then we flipped. A bright light filled every crevice of the ship to the point where I had to close my eyes. It felt worse than staring at the sun.

“Navigate inland,” Zack muttered.

Heath’s voice sounded resolved, “We are no longer in control of the spaceship, Captain.”

“Fuck!” Zack growled.

A woman’s voice came over the sound system and I opened my eyes to see a hologram of what appeared to be a princess or queen. She had red fiery locks that flashed around her head and skin as black as night. Honestly, she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen.

She smiled. “Back again, Zeron? You just don’t know when to quit.”

“Who is that?” I whispered to Axel.

He shook his head, but the woman had heard me.

“What is this? A human?” Her face took an intrigued look. “This I have got to hear.”
