“What is this really about?” Jake eyed him dangerously. “What did you do?”

“I may have accidentally slept with the Innkeeper’s daughter,” Eric uttered beneath his breath.

“How do you accidentally sleep with someone? Your dick accidentally slipped into her vagina?”

Brad fanned his face, “I don’t know when we have had this much excitement in the office.”

We ignored him.

“It wasn’t a big deal,” Eric sneered.

“It was to someone,” Jake countered.

“The lionesses are upset because they believe that the humans are stealing all of their men,” I interrupted their conversation with my observations.

The brothers turned to stare at me.

“How could you know that?” Eric demanded.

CHAPTER 31 - PART 2 – Mombi

“Sit down,” I barked, Eric and Jake both sat. “Brad, we are going to need a drink of something—the stronger, the better.”

“But it is still work hours...” Brad trailed off at the look of I gave him, “Right, drinks coming right up!”

I turned to the brothers who looked eerily similar sitting with their hands on their knees and an intense expression on their face.

“Women are not that difficult to figure out,” I began. “Since Eric here can’t seem to keep it in his pants, he has half the female population of Gillikin County ready to string him up by his balls.”

“I have not slept with half the women in the county,” he protested, “A third tops.”

Jake rolled his eyes, “You aren’t helping, Eric. Why didn’t you come to me?”

“Who says I needed you?” Eric retorted.

“Isn’t that why you are here?” I frowned, “Or, has something else happened?”
