“Then, at that point, we can talk about us,” he stated, his voice still calm and even. “After all, we want to do this the right way, correct? We don’t want to be like them, right?”

My heart started to swell again. Kirk wasn’t looking for a way to ditch me after all. He just wanted to make sure that we started out on a solid foundation of love and trust, no drama of any kind.

“How many condoms do you have left?” I asked coyly.

“Only one,” he admitted. “So, we’d better make the most of it.”

I dropped the sheet, letting him get a perfect view of my tits. “You know, I’m on birth control. You don’t have to use condoms if you don’t want to.”

“I prefer the extra protection,” he replied, surprising me a bit because most guys were game to ditch the latex. “I don’t need any accidents in my life.”

Of course, he had to be generally speaking when he’d said that. While I wasn’t interested in having any more kids, our children would never be considered an accident, and I knew that Kirk would feel the same way. We had a bond, and any children born of that bond would be a blessing.

“Well…then I guess we better make sure that we get as much as we can out of your last condom,” I conceded. “I want to wake up with the delicious ache of your memory.”

Kirk reached for my waist, then hauled me over his lap. “You’re the perfect sight when you’re riding my cock, so I think we should start there.”

I fluttered my eyelashes at him. “You like watching my tits bounce?”

“Oh, you know it,” he grinned lasciviously. “It’s like watching a live work of art.”

Grinning, I said, “You’ll need to grab that last condom first.”

“After you suck my dick again,” he smirked. “That mouth of yours is incredible.”

I couldn’t help but light up at his praise. Since he was saying itwithouthis dick in my mouth, that was proof enough that he meant what he was saying. Everybody knew that a man just rambled during sex, and so you couldn’t take anything that they said seriously, but that’s not what was happening right now. Kirk was telling me that I was incredible while admiring me, not screwing me.

“Is that your favorite thing?” I asked as I started stretching out over his groin.

He shook his head. “I mean, I won’t turn it down if you’re offering.”

“But…?”

“I really like how you take cock up the ass,” he said. “The way that you were begging for it was everything.”

I lowered my head, grinning at how I’d just learned what it took to keep Kirk Nabers happy.

Chapter 29

Harding~

“This shit is insane, Harding,” Luke stated unnecessarily. “You’re lucky that you’re rid of her.”

It was Friday afternoon, and Luke had suggested a drink after work since we hadn’t gotten to talk a whole lot since the day that Paige had tried to ruin his marriage. With Trista busy with her kids, it’d been easy to agree to a few beers, because one just wasn’t going to do.

Luke had also just gone through all the texts, the final one being a real mind-bender. She had sent it Monday morning, and it’d been a follow up to the other weird shit that she had sent. Paige had gone on about being happy to sign the divorce papers because she was in love, and she wasn’t about to let me hold her back from her new lease on life. Honestly, the entire thing had read like a jumbled drunken mess, but I also hadn’t heard from her all week long, so perhaps it’d all been true. At least, true in her eyes.

I looked over at my best friend. “It’s more than just insane, and a part of me wants to warn the guy of what he’s getting into, but Trista’s already pointed out how he might not want to hear from the guy who happens to be with the girl that broke his heart.”

“He’s also a grown man, Harding,” Luke pointed out. “If he’s not smart enough to figure it out, he will eventually.”

“Like me?” I quipped.

Luke grinned as he slapped me on the back. “Five years is still better than twenty.”

I let out a deep sigh. “I guess I should just be happy that she’s not harassing people anymore. That shit was not fun.”

“Tell me about it,” he huffed. “Amy still wants to kick her ass.”
