We messed around in Daxton’s bathroom when we were moving in Bree. So I knew exactly what he was referring too.
Forgetting that we were not alone, we made up for lost time.
Pulling me off the sink, he turned me around and moved in behind me. Quickly pushing back inside, holding my hips he watches me through the mirror before us.
Watching him fall apart was turning me on more. The heat in his eyes, the way he bit his lip and looked down, watching himself fuck me. It was all too much as I began to build.
“So perfect,” he pulls back, slowly fucking me. “I’ll never get enough of you.”
I ignite, taking him with me and I fall forward on the sink, holding on to the edge of the counter.
My body sticky with sweat, the weight of his against my back.
I don’t know how long we stay there like that but when we finally collect ourselves and he stands, pulling me up. Redressing, I look up to smile at him and end with him watching me.
“What?” At first he says nothing, just stares at me while I continue to straighten my clothes and hair. “Did that suck all the brain cells out of your head,” I tease him, pushing against his chest. He grabs my wrist pulls my body to his and uses his free hand to cup the side of my face. Resting his forehead to mine he takes a deep breath and then knocks the floor out from beneath my feet.
“Marry me.” His whisper is clear, and my entire body instantly feels like its floating.
“What?” He had to be high. Post coital bliss, something because… “What?” I ask again pulling away to get a clear view of his face.
“Marry me?”
“Are you insane?”
“Maybe a little, but you also know that I don’t do anything I don’t want so that should say something. I am a man that never believed in marriage. There are no forevers, no happy endings, but I was wrong. I’ve never been happier to be wrong and I’ve wasted enough time, I don’t want to waste any more. I want to marry you and have lots of babies, a bunch of dark haired clones of us running around. I’m ready for forever, I’ve never thought that much more than now, and baby now I’m planning years in advance. Every single plan has you at the center of it, so will you please marry me and stop forcing me to waste another second.”
“You’ll change your mind tomorrow.”
“I’ve been fighting with myself for weeks. Hell, Ror, the moment you woke up in the hospital bed, and smiled at me I knew. Believe me when I say, I won’t change my mind. I’m not gonna wake up tomorrow and regret one fucking thing I am saying tonight. Marry me!”
He grips my face. “Your ring is at home in the safe, in the top of my closet.”
“You’re serious?”
“I’m serious.” He smiles. “Never meant anything more.”
Epilogue
Zac
I have no idea why she even showed up tonight. She can’t even fucking look at me and the tension it is creating has me hanging on by a thread. A thin, weak, thread that is shredding slowly. I’ll admit I don’t know Presley all that well, but she never had an issue with me prior to the one where she surprised the hell out of me. I never expected that night, but she is gorgeous and I’m a guy.
Laughter echoes down the hallway, and I look up just in time to see Jace and Aurora emerging from the hallway they disappeared down more than twenty minutes ago. The assholes literally escaped to my bathroom where I know without a doubt they fucked. The noises they were making confirmed my suspicion.
I make a mental note to sanitize every inch of the space later.
They were both smiling, hand in hand, stopping only a few feet from everyone else.
“She said yes,” Jace states proudly, and Oliver chuckles.
“No fucking shit, we all heard her scream it.” Luna smacks him in the gut, and he makes a humph sound. “What?”
“Ass,” Aurora rolls her eyes but she is smiling so we all know she’s not offended. “I said yes when he asked me to marry him.” She shrugged and suddenly Bree is on her feet, squealing and rushing forward toward her best friend.
We all were offering our congratulations and in the moment I couldn’t have been prouder to call Jace my best friend. It was a life changing moment because he was finally accepting that he deserved something good. Aurora is good, she is the glue that holds him together, she is good for him.
I’ve seen the guy perform a one eighty in a short time and its staggering.
