“So, you want me to take it off then?”
I rolled my eyes and took off the damn shirt before snatching the one he offered out of his hands. It was light purple and just as worn as the other one. It was maybe even softer. Although I wasn’t going to tell him that. It was a little big and fell to my mid-thigh. By the time I got it over my head and straightened it, Ryder was picking me up, grasping me under my ass, and hoisting me into the air.
“What the hell are you doing?” I cried, but my question was quickly answered when he dropped me onto the bed. He crowded over me and kissed me hard.
“Five more minutes,” he said. I parted my thighs and let him settle between them. His tongue swept between my lips, and I became putty under his touch.
“Five more minutes,” I agreed, but we kissed much longer than that. When we pulled apart, our lips were swollen, and he was hard for the third time. But it didn’t go any further. I’d missed a good make-out session. One that didn’t include strings and a requirement for both parties to get off at the end.
Ryder lay beside me, playing with a lock of my hair between his fingers.
“You said something earlier, and I was curious…” I said, unsure how to proceed.
“Yes?” he prompted, and I ran a finger down the center of his chest.
“You said, ‘fuck me,’ but would you ever let me?”
His expression was blank, features unmoving, and my fingers went still against him. Worry tickled at the back of my mind that I’d said something wrong, but I knew better than that. A little smile finally tilted one side of his lips. He licked his lower one and looked down at the piece of hair he was still holding.
It took him a few seconds to speak. “Sorry, I’m just surprised.”
“If it’s not okay, then that’s fine. I wasn’t trying to?—”
“It’s a pleasant surprise, Caroline,” he admitted, and my stomach did that weird thing it always did when he said my name. “So, yes, the answer is yes. I’d willingly, eagerly, let you in my ass.”
My eyebrows shot up, and the images my mind conjured were enough for me to contemplate running out and buying a dildo that moment. Or asking if he had one we could use.
“Don’t look so surprised,” he said with a laugh. “I’ve done similar things before, which I’m sure you could guess since I’ve also been with men.”
“I didn’t want to assume.”
He placed a kiss on the center of my forehead then my hairline. “That’s nice, but it’s the right assumption. And I have to admit,” he said, dropping my hair to tug me closer. We shifted until every part of his front was lined up with mine and the space between us was nonexistent. “The idea of you wearing a strap and palming a dildo you were intent on using on me…” His words trailed off on a groan, and his eyes fluttered shut. To drive his point home, he ground his hips against me. I believed him already, but his thick cock against my thigh really solidified it.
“Great, I’ll start planning. What do you prefer? Longer? Thicker? A fun color?”
He laughed, and I smiled up at him. “I’m not opposed to a fun color, but I prefer thicker if I had to choose.”
“Good to know,” I said as the ideas bombarded me. I’d have to do research on the best brands and anything else I needed to know going into it. Ryder brushed his fingers against my cheek, drawing me back to the present. “I should probably go.”
He shook his head and kissed me softly. “Five more minutes.”
“It’s already been more than five minutes from the last time we said that.”
“So what?” he offered. “Please. Five more minutes.”
I sighed and laid my head back down on his arm. It ended up being much more than five minutes because next thing I knew, the sun was peeking through the bedroom blinds, and I couldn’t make myself move for fear of disturbing Ryder’s perfect sleeping form.
TWENTY-FOUR
“HERE’S…SCOTTY!”
Caroline
I walkedinto my house and straight to the kitchen where I kicked off my heels and unceremoniously dropped my bags on the floor.
Miles and Stephen’s wedding was almost completely planned. There were only a few more things to check off my list. Like finalizing the music selection and hiring additional parking attendants just in case.
A black tie, three-hundred guest wedding with a sit-down dinner and on-site accommodations was a lot to put together on a standard timeline but having only a few months made it nearly impossible. Well, nearly impossible for anyone except me.
