I almost wanted to drag him to my bed. It was so much closer and the trip to his room seemed daunting. But with Xander just next door, I knew we couldn’t. Xander’s room was above Wraith’s, so we still needed to be quiet, but at least a floor between us was better than a thin wall.
My heart was pounding the whole walk to Wraith’s room. Excitement and nerves made my belly clench and unclench repeatedly. Being with Wraith was everything I’d wanted for years, and I was a little afraid of taking the leap. What if we weren’t compatible in bed? What if he fought with Wyatt and potentially ruined their friendship over nothing? What if–
We stopped just outside his door, and he turned to face me. “Hey. If you’d prefer to wait…”
He looked worried, his thumb drifting gently over my cheek. I shook my head, holding his wrist so he didn’t let go.
“No. I want to. I’ve wanted to for a while.”
The corners of his mouth kicked up, and he leaned in for another slow kiss. Those should be illegal. They were like drugs, making me feel all floaty and breathless.
“Me too.”
Surprised, I spluttered a little, but he didn’t give me a chance to ask questions. He tugged me into his room, closing the door behind us, and we were instantly swallowed by darkness.
“Woah.”
He chuckled and moved away from me, his strides even as he crossed the dark without tripping once. A light flicked on and I lookedaround, surprised. I’d never been in here before. I only ever caught glimpses when I picked up Thor and opened the bedroom door to call for him. I actually started laughing when I looked around.
“You’re a slob! I never would’ve guessed!”
He rolled his eyes, kicking some clothes out of the way. “Shut up. Like you’re any better.”
True. But unlike him, my slobbishness was not just confined to my bedroom. The only time I regularly kept my house clean was when I had guests. I was a nurse who worked odd hours. Cleaning was very low on my priority list.
Closing the distance between us, I threw my arms around his neck. “I guess we can just be slobs together then.”
He grinned, wrapping his arms around me as he dipped his head. It started slow, like with the first kiss, making my blood sizzle with heat that pooled low in my belly. I’d never been with such a good kisser that they could make me breathless without even getting tongues involved. He dipped a little, banding his arms just below my butt as he lifted me off my feet and laid me on the bed. He didn’t toss me or nudge me to get up by myself. He dropped back slowly, keeping his mouth on mine the entire time. It was like he wanted me to swoon.
Unlike most guys, Wraith was in no rush. He laid on top of me and we made out like teenagers until I was so needy, it was embarrassing. He wouldn’t let me hurry things along. When I tugged at his shirt to remove it, he laced our fingers together and pinned my hands by my head. I whimpered, lifting up enough to press my body against his, and I felt that stupid sexy grin against my lips.
“Why are you torturing me?” I demanded, ripping my mouth away from his.
“Why are you in such a hurry? We’ve got all night,” he murmured, brushing kisses down my neck. I shivered, tipping my head to give him more room, even while I carped at him.
“Years of waiting, Mattias,” I ground out.
He sucked in a breath, lifting enough to look at me. “Say that again.”
I rolled my eyes. “What? You really expect me to use your road name while we’re–”
“No. Just say it again.”
It took a second for me to figure out why. It was the heated look in his eye that tipped me off. He liked it. I bit my lip, shaking my head to deny him. He growled, nipping at my bottom lip.
“Do it, Mel.”
“Not until you agree to do more than kiss me. If you make me wait much longer, I’m going to spontaneously combust.”
He chuckled, tangling his tongue with mine in a filthy kiss before his fingers flexed. “Brat. Fine. You first.”
I shook my head slowly, a teasing grin on my face. He wasn’t going to pull the wool over my eyes. I could see right through him. And I was just as stubborn as he was.
Releasing one of my hands, he reached over his head, fisting his t-shirt and pulling it off in one smooth movement. He tossed it aside, raising an eyebrow at me. I still shook my head, grinning as he removed my clothes and his, one article at a time, growing more and more impatient as he did. Good, I wanted him to feel as wild as I did. And when he laid back on top of me, fully naked and oh so gorgeous, I finally gave him what he wanted.
“Touch me, Mattias.”
He groaned, long and loud, leaning his forehead against my shoulder. “You’re evil.”
