Dylan did not. “You know what I’m asking.”
“I only see one problem with your plan… Beside your wing being too small for us and a new place will take a bit to build.”
“What’s the problem?” Dylan asked.
Chapter Thirty-One
“The problem is—”Ford stopped mid-sentence. He didn’t want to pressure Dylan to reveal his feelings before he was ready, but moving in together would bea big step. One to be taken seriously. Especially if both he and Erin sold their homes and moved onto the ranch. Ford needed more than simply being involved in an exclusive relationship.
This would be putting down actual roots. Declaring to the world that they were in a committed polyamorous relationship and didn’t care what other people thought about it.
It would also be building a “family.”
Erin said years ago she would want children someday. Would she want to have them with Dylan and Ford? How would that even work? That would be another serious, but necessary, discussion.
The reality was, children raised in an unconventional relationship could get bullied. Whose last name would they take? Who would be the actual biological father… Would they care who? This was something they needed to figure out before jumping in with both feet. Or three pairs of feet.
He was up for it, and he knew Erin would be, too, but he first needed to hear something from Dylan the man hadn’t shared yet.
“What’s the problem?” Dylan prodded with a frown.
“The sex is great, right?” Ford asked.
“Of course,” both Dylan and Erin said simultaneously.
“It might have been a bit bumpy in the beginning but now everything between us has fallen into place, right?”
Again, Dylan and Erin both answered, “Yes.”
Ford focused on Erin. “You love me, darlin’, as much as I love you, right?”
She quickly picked up on where he was leading this conversation. “You know I do.”
“Do you love Dylan just as much?”
Dylan stared at her with his expression completely blank as he waited for her answer. She met the man’s eyes and said with complete confidence, “Of course I do.”
“You never said as much,” Dylan whispered, his eyes and expression softening.
“I was worried if I told you, you’d feel pressured to say it back, whether true or not.”
Dylan scraped a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize… Shit. Were you two waiting on me?”
“Like Erin said, we didn’t want to pressure you. But yes, we were waiting on you,” Ford confirmed.Holy shit, this felt good to get off his chest.
Dylan appeared floored. “You love me?”
Once this was out, there was no taking it back. He made sure to meet Dylan’s gaze head-on when he admitted, “I do.”
Dylan closed his eyes and whispered, “Thank fuck.”
Ford chuckled. “That’syour response?”
“Hell yes! You two kept telling each other but neither of you said it to me. I was beginning to think I was the third wheel, which was my fear in the beginning.”
“What?” Erin exclaimed. “Really? Then why would you ask us to move in with you?”
“I was hoping you’d both eventually feel the same way.”
