While he would love an invite to join her, he wasn’t pushing his luck. Not today, anyway. All bets might be off in the future.

He plucked her thong from the floor and handed it over. While she pulled it on, he held her sundress. She took it from him next, pulled it over her head and let it drop into place.

Shame, that.

Even so, she was just as gorgeous in that dress as she was naked. She gave him her back and he zipped her up.

He grabbed a bottle of water from the small fridge in the tack room next. “Make sure to drink all of that.”

She accepted it. “I will.” She cracked the lid on the water and downed a healthy swallow.

“Definitely take that warm bath when you get home. Do you want aspirin? The first aid kit has some.”

“No, I’ll be fine.”

He was tempted to say, “Good girl,” again but they were no longer in a scene, and he didn’t want to sound overbearing. Instead, he asked, “Can I check on you later?”

Her brown eyes went wide. “Like stopping over?”

He shook his head. “Just a simple text.”

“Sure.”

“I don’t have your number.”

With a tilt of her head, she shot him a knowing look.

Of course she saw through his request. He didn’t have her number, and this was a good excuse to get it.

“Do you have your cell phone on you?”

He slipped it from his back pocket, unlocked the screen and pulled up his contacts.

When she held out her hand, he didn’t hesitate to hand it over. She plugged in her digits. Then with a smile, she stepped toe-to-toe with him, pressing the phone to his chest. His hand automatically enveloped hers, but she didn’t release it. Instead, she leaned in with her face tipped up.

It was only natural that they would share a parting kiss. Right?

After driving his hand through her hair, he cupped the back of her head as she went up on her toes and pressed their mouths together.

Even though the kiss was brief, it still made his blood hum. Especially when his palms picked up the heat of her spanked ass through the light fabric of her dress.

“I want to do this again,” she murmured against his lips.

He also looked forward that.

Soon.

“Great minds…” He didn’t bother to finish that common idiom, she knew the rest.

After releasing his cell phone, she dropped from her tiptoes, making him once again aware of their six-inch height difference. “I’m glad we’re finally moving forward, Dylan, and no longer lingering in the past. Now, I have a tub calling my name.” With a soft smile, she disappeared through the tack room door.

That was when he realized he was also smiling like a damn fool.

Because today ended up being a good day.

He hoped tomorrow was even better.
