He buries his head in my shoulder. “I know, but I can’t help but worry about you.”

I smile at that. “And I love you for it. But this still has to happen.”

He sighs and releases me to take my hand and lead me downstairs. When we get down there, we find Rage, Blade, and Sugar waiting on us.

“Stone?” Jackson asks.

Rage shakes his head. “He won’t leave her side. Not even for revenge.” A small smile plays on his lips.

I can’t wait to see where that goes. It’s going to be interesting to see them actually interacting more. I have never really seen them talk to each other.

We all head out, with most of the guys heading towards their bikes, but Jackson takes us to a truck.

When we climb in, I glance over at him. “Why are we not taking your spare bike?”

“You’re pregnant. You can’t ride while pregnant.”

“Oh.” I go quiet for a while before remembering that I need to express my thoughts to Jackson. “There is a chance…” I clear my throat. “There is a chance that I am not pregnant anymore. It has to be early, I think. But I still drank heavily for a bit and after all the stress of the last few days… I might not be.” I whisper the last part.

Jackson reaches over and takes my hand. “Angel, we can make an appointment, okay? Let them tell us. Either way, things will work out. I promise. We have each other.”

I nod, fighting tears. “I’m just scared that I… I killed—”

“No,” he growls. “No. You didn’t and haven’t killed a baby, Presley. None of this is your fault. None of it. We will make an appointment as soon as possible and go from there. But you need to tell me when these thoughts come up so I can help you.”

“Okay. I will try.”

He grins at me. “Good girl.”

All the blood seems to rush straight down to my core, and I clench my thighs together. We soon pull up to the club, and Jackson quickly unbuckles.

Releasing my hand, he reaches over and grabs the back of my neck, angling my face towards his before kissing me. I melt into him and grip his shoulders as his tongue tangles with mine. Everything else falls away for a brief second as we get lost in each other before Jackson slowly pulls away.

He runs his thumb over my cheek and down to my bottom lip before gripping my chin between his thumb and finger. “Are you ready?”

As I’ll ever be. I steel myself for what’s coming. “Yes.”

“If you want to leave at any point, you can. No one, and I mean no one, will think less of you.”

I nod. “Okay.”

He scans my eyes before sighing and releasing my chin. Slipping out of the truck, he walks around to my side and helps me out. We head inside the club and down the back hall to a locked door. The door leads downstairs to a dark area with an open room to one side, where two other members are currently sitting at a table talking, and another locked door to the other. Blade unlocks the door and steps inside.

Rage stays behind us as I grip Jackson’s hand and walk in with him. As soon as Blade moves to the side, I gasp and freeze in place.

Jackson’s grip on my hand tightens, and two hands land on my shoulders.

“You can leave, Pres,” Rage says quietly behind me.

The way they all keep telling me I can leave and questioning whether I can do this is starting to make me mad. I didn’t say I wanted to kill him myself. I just need to see it. It is going to bother me; I already know that. But in order to move forward, I know I have to see it.

I step forward, shaking off their hands and walk towards Ben, who is covered in so much dried blood it is hard to even see his skin. His eyes barely crack open as he spots me and a tired, tiny grin comes over his battered face.

“Miss me?” he croaks.

I shake my head, choosing not to give him my words. What more could I say? He never listened before. He isn’t going to listen now. I want him gone. He will never truly believe that until he is staring into my eyes as my man takes his life.

Jackson steps forward, pulling a gun from his pants. He bends down and meets Ben’s eyes. “You were supposed to suffer for weeks. Months, even. But my woman—my woman—needs closure. She needs the trash from her past taken out. You deserved everything you got and more. This is you getting off easy.”
