I don’t want to let Violet go, but I have no choice. I hand her over to Carr so that he can load her into her car seat before we get in.
Neither of us says a word during the drive. My guilt only grows with each second. I was supposed to come here and help Carr. That was the whole point. All he has been to me from the very start is sweet and kind.
Now I've gone and ruined everything. Not only that, I ruined a deal for him. One that probably was in the works for months and lost him a lot of money. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself.
“Relax,” Carr tells me, kissing the top of my head when we step onto the elevator. He carries Violet, who is sleeping in the car seat.
When we enter the suite, he carries her into the nursery. I stand there so unsure what to do. A few minutes later, Carr steps back out.
“I’m sorry,” we both blurt out.
“You’re sorry? You didn’t do anything. It was me. I ruined it all, and now I’m probably fired, and I’ll never see you or Violet again.” I can’t stop the tears now. The thought of them no longer being in my life is crushing.
“Shh.” He pulls me into his arms, holding me close. “You’re not going anywhere, Addison.” Carr runs his hand up and down my back, trying to calm me. “I’m sorry because I let there be doubt of what you mean to me. I didn’t want to scare you off, so I was taking it slow, trying to ease you into this.”
“What?” I drop my head back to stare up at him.
“I have wanted you from the moment you stepped into my world. I think I might have even loved you from that very first second. The ring is real, and I don't mean as in a real diamond but a real engagement.”
"Carr." I sniffle. "I don't know what to say." This man really knows how to always flip my world.
"Say you're my fiancée." He leans down, his mouth brushing mine. "And mean it."
“I do.”
Chapter Seventeen
CARR
“Hand me your phone.”
She does so with a question in her eyes. I call it and flip the camera so it’s shining at Violet. Then I hold up my screen to show Addison how our makeshift baby monitor works. She nods with understanding. With my finger to my mouth, I then pull Addison into the bathroom.
“I want to have the lights on and you might be noisy.” I explain at her questioning look. I prop my phone against a tumbler on the sink and turn on the shower. “This way you can scream all you want and not wake Violet.”
“You sound very confident.”
“I am but not because I have all this experience. You’re my one and only. It’s because I pay attention. Your body tells me all I need to know.” I reach out and pinch a nipple. “When I suck on these, your cunt spasms around my fingers, so I know you’re extra sensitive here.” I roll the hardened nub. “You could probably come just from nipple play.”
Her breath is shaky. “Fine, but you better keep to yourself from now on.”
I release her nipple and walk around to her back. She watches me in the mirror. I bend down and kiss her bare neck. “I’ve always kept to myself. I’ve been busy working, taking care of my extended family, cleaning up messes made by my cousins.”
The fabric parts as I pull the zipper down, revealing a long, sexy line of bare skin. I unhook her bra and slide my hands around to the front to cup her breasts. “Look at how beautiful you are.”
Unencumbered by the zipper, the silk dress slips off her shoulders and catches around her waist. I trace the bony ridge with my lips. Suddenly she pulls out of my grasp and turns on me. Her hands grab my lapels. “Your turn,” she decrees.
“I haven’t had a turn yet,” I protest mildly.
“You did earlier. I want a taste now. Maybe I’ll be the one making you scream.”
I hold out my arms. “Please, abuse me. I’ll try to take it like a man.”
I might have spoken too soon, too brashly because by the time she takes my shirt off, I’m ready to blow. She wasn’t even teasing me as she pushed the jacket off and unbuttoned my shirt, but every little brush of her fingers against my skin sent a bolt of electricity through me until I was completely engulfed in a fire of lust.
When she lowers herself to her knees, her mouth a scant few inches from my cock, my knees buckle. I throw out a hand and brace myself against the wall. “Put my jacket under you, my love. I don’t want your skin to get damaged.”
“I’ll ruin it,” she says.
