“Yeah, well, unless you want to get in here and fight with me then that won’t really happen.”
He leans back slightly, seeming to debate it.
“Come on, old man,” I taunt, seeing the flare in his eyes that he wants to meet the challenge.
“Nice try. Not tonight.” He shakes his head, “You need to be fully ready and not just coming down from another fight.”
“That was hardly a fight,” I scoff.
He keeps walking away and I look around for Drew, but he must have already left to go to The Tavern and see Max.
Alexander is around shooting the shit with Cal, but I know they’re about the same level and I don’t feel like babysitting another fighter right now.
Instead, I hit the bag until sweat beads across my brow. When everything floods in about my life now that I’m cut off, I just go harder. I still have access to my cards, at least I did when I checked earlier, but I’m not going to use them.
My dad didn’t lock me out of the house, but I wasn’t going to give him the chance to do it.
Then, there’s the whole talking to Max thing that night when she found me. For the first time, I talked about the shit going on and she just understood. I’ve never experienced that before. There’s so much with her that I’ve never experienced before, and it’s making it harder not to pin her down and say the words I’ve never said before while I force her to listen and not talk.
Maybe I’ll stuff her mouth full of her cum covered panties so she can’t say anything and just lets me speak.
Then she can’t try to reject what I tell her with weak protests that I won’t accept anyway. I can make her bend to my every will and she does it willingly. I can even make her love me if I need to.
CHAPTER 32
MAX
Drew showed up at the bar and hasn’t left the entirety of my shift. Luckily, I’m able to function, my cramps having subsided slightly, probably thanks to the orgasms. Or the medication I took, but I’d like to give credit to the orgasms.
“Time to go,” I tell him sternly, a little surprised Caine and Adam didn’t join him. Or maybe they’re taking shifts being on “Max duty.”
He stands up, towering over me, and apparently the orgasms earlier weren’t enough because his large looming body makes my thighs clench as he smirks, leaning down to graze his lips against mine. “I’ll be outside.”
I try to chase his lips with mine, but he evades me and I scowl at his back. He walks out the door, but runs into someone walking in.
“Place is closed,” he tells whoever it is. I join him and see that it’s Officer Doogie and roll my eyes.
“Can I help you with anything, Officer?” I ask, trying to be friendly.
“Just wanted to come by to see if any of you have heard anything else about that murder. I got Feds starting to sniff around asking questions.”
“Can’t say we have,” Drew answers for us, folding his arms across his chest. “And I don’t know why you think we would.”
The officer looks past him to me. “Your girlfriend here would.”
I shake my head. “No, I don’t and I need you to leave so I can close up.”
“I’m sure I’ll be seeing you again soon, then.” He looks directly at me as Drew guides him out the door, using a little more force than he probably should.
“I’ll be outside,” he tells me quietly.
Nodding, I lock the door behind him and quickly clean up the bar so I can go home. The warning of the Officer’s parting words replaying in my mind.Seeing you again soon.I want to believe everything will be okay, that whatever Danner did was enough that no one would suspect me. Though, with the FBI supposedly asking questions I feel like I may be working with borrowed time.
“We’re taking a trip next weekend,”Adam says shortly after he gets to my house. Drew took me home, and Caine was already there waiting for me of course.
“What do you mean a trip?” I shake my head. “I have a job and I can’t just leave whenever I want. I need money.”
“Don’t worry about it, George is cool with you having a weekend off,” Drew says easily, draping an arm across my shoulder.
