Finally pulling back, they swept their gazes over the utter destruction this place had caused. There were at least six more bodies dangling from ropes, cut open. Luminary guards were busy emptying the remaining prisons.

“This is what I saw. This dark, dark place. And him, Moargan. I saw Helianth.”

“Your gift is the blinding light, lover. You can see things.” Moargan cupped his face and pressed their lips together. “It’s a beautiful gift. You saved our family.”

“Moargan.” Kylix approached, weapons drawn. “We’re ready. The place has been cleared.”

“And my brother?”

“Taken to the hospital. There were two more survivors. Four dead.”

Cyprian swallowed as he searched around. “And Archer?”

Kylix’s lips twitched. “If you mean a mousy kid with large eyes, he is waiting for you outside. He’s alright.”

“Yeah,” Cyprian smiled in relief. “That sounds like him.”

Moargan stretched his fingers, and the tips burned gold. The place started warming up, the ice melting in front of their eyes.

Attica’s members shivered, blinking in confusion as they took in their whereabouts. Theiralteredwhereabouts. Surrounded by Luminary guards, they didn’t stand a chance. And although they still growled and threatened their captors, they couldn’t prevent themselves from being cuffed and arrested, all nine of them.

Cyprian watched them go, ignoring their shouts, insteadsweeping the place one final time for those ice-blue eyes as if his savior really would still be here.

Moargan wrapped a strong arm around his shoulders, tugging him close. “Let’s go home, lover. Take a long shower and spend the rest of the day in bed.”

“Iwant to show you something.”

They were barely dressed after their ridiculously long shower when Moargan pointed his chin upward. “That way.”

Cyprian pouted. “I thought we were going to spend the rest of the day in bed?”

“We will, but I just?—”

“You’re impatient.”

Moargan’s eyes flashed but his stomach swooped. His lover was right. He was impatient, eager to see those beautiful yellow eyes shine with happiness. “If I say yes, will you come with me?”

Cyprian didn’t reply, just put his hand in Moargan’s. Their bond hummed pleased at the touch.

They made their way to the stairs, hidden on the other side of the house, and started climbing.

“I didn’t know you had another floor above.”

“There are many things you don’t know yet,” Moargan teased, smiling when Cyprian rolled his eyes at him.

“I’m disappointed. No fancy lift like your father has?”

“Not yet, lover. But if you want one, I’ll get you one.”

Cyprian smiled. “I was just kidding. Besides, I won’t comehere much—” His voice faltered when the doors opened. Moargan watched him stare in awe while his tired brain undoubtedly needed more time to process the view. It made his own chest tighten with affection. Like this, with his black hair tousled, those yellow eyes large and fierce, and his sculpted limbs slender yet determined, Cyprian was the most beautiful thing Moargan had ever laid eyes on.

The Waltr sat proudly on one of the pointed legs of the star-shaped roof. This model was specifically designed to catch the light from up here, on the roof, where the scene truly was magnificent.

“I thought you’d like to have an uncensored view of our galaxy,” Moargan murmured.

Cyprian turned around to face him, his yellow eyes wet with tears for the second time that day. His mouth opened, but no words came out.
