His deep brown eyes are shiny with unshed tears. He blinks and smiles. “This is the most thoughtful gift anyone’s gotten me. Thank you.”
Relief washes over me. He presses a slow, teasing kiss to my lips. And then he hugs me tight.
“I love you. So much,” he whispers.
He leans back, still holding my face in his hands. He smiles. “Let’s go shower.”
He leads me to the main bathroom and flips on the water. Then he strips off my jersey before taking off his sweatpants. We step into the shower and he grabs the bar of soap, lathering it up in his hands. He takes his time soaping all over my body.
He slides his hand between my legs and works my pussy in his hands. I grip his shoulders as the pleasure washes over me.
“Do you know how incredible you are, sweetheart?” he whispers as he plunges his fingers inside of me.
I gasp. My head lolls against his shoulder as I struggle to stay upright, I’m so overloaded with pleasure.
“Do you know how lucky I am that you’re mine?” He drags his tongue up my neck and presses his palm against my clit. My knees buckle.
He rubs his fingers over my G-spot. I see stars. I’m panting so hard and so fast.
“Do you know how much I love you?” he rasps.
He pushes his palm against my clit even harder, then sinks his teeth into the base of my neck. I come with a shout. My scream is deafening as it bounces against the shower walls. The whole time, Del trails soft bites and kisses along my neck and shoulder.
I fall back against the shower wall. When my vision starts to refocus, I take in the intensity in Del’s gaze as he looks at me.
Like I’m the only one in the world worth looking at. Like I’m the only one in the world for him.
My heart melts.
This man. I love him so, so much.
He kisses my forehead. “I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you too.”

The buzzer in the arena booms, signaling the end of the game. The Denver home crowd roars.
The second it’s over, I skate over to the Bashers net, where the rest of my teammates are celebrating.
It’s game three of the playoffs, and we just clocked another win against Los Angeles.
“Fuck yeah, three wins in a row!” Xander hollers as he crashes into Blomdahl.
We’re all screaming and cheering. Thanks to Blomdahl, this game was a shutout.
I skate over to him and tap his helmet. “You fucking killed it,” I say to him.
He grins. “Thanks. So did you.”
Theo bumps me. “Fuck yeah, you did. That was a hell of a goal you scored. I thought we’d only manage three goals this game, but you made it four.”
I was able to score a goal a couple of minutes before the third period ended.
I tell Theo thanks. I glance up at the stands, at the fans going nuts over our win. Everyone is on their feet and slamming the glass. The noise is deafening. My ears are throbbing, but I loveit. I love that we’re on a winning streak during this first round of the playoffs. I love that the fans are losing their minds.
