“I like the sound of that.”

Sven stood and offered her a hand, then leaned down his head and kissed her. “Head on up. I’ll be right there.”

He watched her bare ass as she bent over to pick up her leggings and spanked it.

She looked back at him with a cocked brow.

“Meet you up there, and we’ll finish what I started,” he said with a wink.

She went upstairs as he turned off the TV and made sure the doors were locked and the lights were out. He made his way up stairs only to find a naked Natalie in his bed. Fuck... this was going to be fun.

Natalie

It’d been over a week since everything happened with Sven and his dad. In some ways, that terrible morning still felt like it’d just happened, but what was sparking between her, and Sven felt so natural it was like they’d been together for years.

Sven had been gone on a road trip for the past four nights. It seemed like a long time, but he talked to Winnie every day. And he called her every night... and they maybe did more than talk. Some of the things that came out of that man’s mouth made her blush.

But, sadly, when he came home, he would not get to make good on all the promises of things he wanted to do to her body. She’d gotten her period when she woke up this morning.

He would be stopping in for a nap before heading out to his game tonight. But she was resting on the couch while Winnie played on the floor.

The garage door rumbled opened. Sven came in and dropped his bag in the kitchen.

“Where are my girls?”

Winnie happily babbled. Sven picked her up and peppered her cheek with kisses as she squealed in laughter. Then his happy gaze found Natalie, who was lying on the couch in old sweats, looking utterly miserable.

She gave him a small unconvincing smile.

His smile fell. “What’s the matter?”

“I’m just not feeling well.”

An almost panicked look crossed his face. He walked directly to her and felt her head. “Are you sick?”

“No. I just started my period.”

“Oh,” he said as he brushed the hair out of her eyes. “Why didn’t you say something? I could have brought chocolate or flowers or both or ibuprofen. I have some of that upstairs.”

“I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine.”

Her eyebrows drew together, and she scowled at him.

“Not like that, baby,” he said, grazing her cheek with his thumb. “I just want to make sure you’re taking care of yourself.”

“I’m really okay, just crampy and tired.”

“What are the odds of getting this little one here to nap early? I was going to take a nap before I have to be there tonight, and by the looks of it, you could use a nap with me.”

Natalie yawned on the couch. “I think odds are pretty good. I fed her about thirty minutes ago, so I think if she took a bottle, she would go down pretty easy.”

“Okay, I’ll go put her down and then we can have a nap. You just relax.”

“I adore you.”
