Shocked to my core and in utter surprise, I couldn’t find any words. I looked at him, stunned. As he rubbed my feet, I sat back, keeping myself up with my hands on the table. I felt my body relaxing. This was the last thing I had ever expected him to do. But his touch was tender and welcoming.

I had not expected his reaction. “Is this helping?” he inquired. His tone was soft and caring. I felt confused, as I would have expected him to flip out. After all, he was said to be one of the bad guys.

Leaning back onto my elbows, I moaned softly as I replied. “Yes, it is. Could you move up a bit?” His touch mademy stomach fill with flutters. He moved up my calves, rubbing softly. As Abram stood up, he started rubbing just above my knees. I felt my breath catching.

Looking into his eyes, I could see the fire burning in them. He appeared to be beaming as he stepped closer. Opening my legs an inch, I felt him lightly pushing against them. I wanted him to move further. But I would wait for him to move at his own pace.

As his hands tenderly rubbed my thighs, moving higher, the room suddenly filled with loud beeping as he received a message. I was so deep in my feelings I got a fright as it went off.

Abram exhaled loudly as he stepped back, pulling his phone out. “I have to go. I have another meeting to attend. But I will see you tonight.” He smiled, stepping back. He left me sitting there on the table. I stared at the door, trying to wrap my mind around what had just happened.

As he opened the door, walking out backward, he bumped into a young man. “Hey, watch it,” I heard the skinny, tall man say as he shoved Abram back into the room. Stopping, he looked at me still sitting on the table. “Oh, my, who might this be?” he questioned, stepping into the doorway.

“This is Nadia, my new secretary,” Abram huffed at him, moving in between us. Getting off the table, I straightened my clothing before walking closer. The young man moved to the side, looking past Abram at me as he held out his hand.

There was a glimmer of suspicion in his eyes as he spoke. “Nice to meet you, Nadia; I would have liked to stay and learn more,” he glanced at Abram before continuing. “But I have work to do.”

Shaking his hand, I replied quickly. I could hear the harshness in my tone, but I was still trying to come to terms withwhat had just gone down. “I would not want to keep you from your work. Pleased to meet you.”

I stood as the two men moved out of the filing room and disappeared down the hallway. Breathing out heavily, I tried to control the emotions running rampant through me.

What just happened? How could I…? My mind was flooded with all the questions. I turned and looked at the table, taking a slow, deep breath. I shook my head; I had to get a grip on my body. Why was it betraying me? Standing, I straightened my clothing and made sure my hair was in place.

I couldn’t allow something like this to happen. I would only offer him sex as a last resort for getting access to information. But I got some information, I reasoned with myself. But the feelings that kept coming up when he touched me. Those, I had to control.

Walking back to my table, I heard my phone beeping. It was surely Vadik again. I sighed as I sat down and looked at the text. ‘Where’s the intel? You’re not on holiday! Get the job done!’

Taking a deep breath, I glanced around, ensuring no one was in sight before responding. ‘I’m working on it.’

‘Don’t make me come there!’ Vadik replied instantly. I knew he didn’t want to and most likely wouldn’t as I was their only way in. But when he got angry, he could lose his mind. He might do something he would regret later.

Placing my phone in the drawer of my table, I noticed my hand shaking slightly. Vadik scared me, he always had. Taking a couple of deep breaths, I calmed myself before continuing my work.

Chapter 9 - Abram

Nadia had become more of a distraction than I expected. I sighed silently as I tried to focus on the meeting. My mind wasn’t present. I found it strenuous to keep up appearances.

Sure, I planned all of this. I wanted to place her in one of our legal offices. But I didn’t intend on being engulfed by her. I nodded when asked something and tried my best to keep up with what Alexandr was saying.

Once the meeting was over, I couldn’t wait to return to my office. Nadia was filing some papers when I got back. I entered my glass office and sat watching her. As she moved around her desk to the filing room and back, I felt a heat rising within. This was all my doing and I was amazed at how good she actually was at her job.

I felt frustrated that she could keep up the act even when she was overthrown with work. She made no slip-ups, which is what I had hoped for. I was sure that I would have to increase the pressure. I had to find her trigger.

Being exceptional at the job was the least of my worries, though. Every day, I had to watch her move around, looking so good. Every outfit highlighted her features in ways that made my blood boil.

Nadia leaned to the side, grabbing a pen from her desk, and my mind traveled back to the filing room. I wondered how far she would have let me go if we hadn’t been interrupted. Clenching and releasing my fists, I could still feel her velvet skin. She felt so good.

The idea of wanting her was disturbing, but it also turned me on. It was a bit troubling that she had this impact on me. Yet,I wanted her more and more. I was pulled from my thoughts as I heard my phone beeping.

Checking, I noticed she was sending an update through to her family. It was a relief that Tasha’s bug was still working, and I could track her activities. I read the message she had sent. It was a little unsettling that she was so determined to feed her family intel. But I had planted a file earlier containing inaccurate details.

I was sending them on a goose chase, but this proved how far she would go. I didn’t like the results. At times, she appeared sincere, but everything she did was all part of the act. Except for sending them chasing tails, I knew I had to teach her a lesson as well.

It would be amusing to see her family running around. I wondered how long it would take them to figure out the intel was a bust. I felt a pull at my heart, knowing she was betraying me. Sitting back in my chair, I wondered how I could punish her.

Rising, I walked to my office door and called her. Nadia glanced back at me. She looked innocent, but I knew better. “Please come here,” I said, turning and heading back to my desk. “Please close the door,” I added, sitting down again.

I waited for her to take a seat across from me before continuing. “We are going out for dinner tonight. We’ll have a few drinks and celebrate your first week completed at your new job.”
