“I need it done immediately, though. By tomorrow night.”

“That doesn’t give me enough time to plan or?—”

“I don’t care,” he snaps. “You either make it happen and eliminate Miceli or Angelo winds up gutted in a dark alley. You choose. But, know that time starts now.”

I curse under my breath.

“Take his name off that list now or no deal,” I snarl. Anger courses through me and I refuse to let this bastard hold all the cards.

“Hisname oryourname?” he asks, studying me so intently that I squirm.

I have no other choice but to lay it all out there. “His name,” I whisper.

Gallo shakes his head then smirks again. “I knew I was right about you and him. I could see it all over you the moment you walked in here.”

“See what?” I ask, confused.

“Women in love have a certain…smell, shall we say? And you, my dear, reek of it.”

Smell?“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Like a bitch in heat,” he clarifies, and my stomach turns.

Asshole.“Remove Angelo’s name now,” I hiss.

He inclines his head, picks up his phone and I listen carefully as he places the quick call. He requests Angelo’s name to be removed, but not mine. I grit my teeth and realize I am in a very shitty position. But, at least Angelo is now safe. I accomplished what I’d set out to do—sacrifice myself for him.

But, I had no idea that Gallo would turn the tables on me like this.

He hangs up his phone then lifts his wrist and waves his watch back and forth. “Tick tock, my lovely. Now go kill Miceli Rossi or your man is dead.”

I feel sick as I turn and walk out. There’s nothing more I can say to this monster. Now all I can do is come up with some kind of a plan because there’s no way I’m killing Miceli.

But if you don’t do it then Angelo will die.

Shit.

What the hell am I going to do?

Whatever it is, I need to figure it out fast.

ANGELO

After landing and securing my helo, I’m about to call one of my brothers to pick me up when a white BMW rolls up outside the hangar. I instantly recognize the car and driver, and my heart sinks.

What the hell is Carlotta doing here?I wonder. The last thing I want to do is drag my baby sister into this mess.

Jogging over, I open the door and lean down to peer inside. “What the hell, Lottie?”

“Nice to see you, too,” she says and nods to the passenger seat. “Now get in. You’ve got some explaining to do.”

I slip into the car and buckle up fast. Carlotta isn’t exactly the best driver and has totaled exactly two cars, though she’ll say neither time was her fault. Turning to face her, I brace a hand against the dashboard.

“Sorry, but you shouldn’t be involved. There are a lot of bad people after me,” I tell her.

“I heard Miceli talking to Vin and Enzo. Fill me in now, Ang,” she orders. “You know I hate when you guys leave me out of the loop, and you always do.”
