“What’s wrong?” he asked with concern. “Did something happen?”
I blew out a shaky breath before turning to face him again. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and gray sweats. His hair was shaggy, sweeping to one side across his forehead. “I-I think someone was following me.” His eyebrows drew together, but before he could reply to that, I added, “What are you doing here?”
“I was coming to pay my respects to your mom,” he admitted sheepishly. “I figured everyone would be gone by now.” He didn’t release me, his hands acting like my own personal security blanket. Adrenaline was coursing through my veins from fear and having to possibly run for my life.
My thoughts were all jumbled. “I-I need to get out of here.” My hands tightened around the front of his shirt in desperation. I didn’t know what I was asking from him. To take me somewhere? To not leave me alone?
To my relief, he seemed to understand. “Come on.” He dropped his hands from my waist and took a step back.
I sucked in a shuddering breath, attempting to calm my racing heart. What would have happened had Kash not shown up when he did? What would that stranger have done to me? A shiver that had nothing to do with the cold punched through me and I allowed my arms to fall to my sides. He led the way to the opening of the fence. He must have sensed that I was in shock or something similar, because he helped me into the passenger seat of his truck before rounding the vehicle and climbing in next to me.
To my relief, he didn’t press for more answers. He whipped out of the parking lot and tore out onto the main road. I didn’t even care where he was taking me. Anywhere was better than being alone right now. The trees whirred by us as we moved, my heart still working overtime in an attempt to regulate itself. I needed some kind of distraction. Something to take my mind off seeing Briley, of seeing myfather.Of running for my fucking life.
“Are you okay?” he asked again after several minutes.
I didn’t even know how to answer that. There were so many things going on in my life right now that werenotokay. “I think so.” I breathed out. “I just had to get away from there.” He pulled up to a cliff edge surrounded by nothing but trees and greenery, backing his truck toward it so that the bed was facing the edge. My curiosity got the better of me, a frown tugging at my mouth. “Where are we?”
“I like to come out here when I need to get away sometimes. It’s peaceful.” He glanced over at me before jerking his key out of the ignition. “And there are no creepy stalker guys here.”
A snort bubbled up from my chest. “That’s reassuring.” There shouldn’t have been any creepy stalker guys at my mother’s funeral, either.
He shot me a small grin before opening his door and climbing out. I turned around in my seat, confusion gnawing away at me. He moved to the back door and opened it, collecting a large thick blanket and a long throw blanket. He just…kept blankets in the back of his truck? Slamming the door, he rounded his vehicle and opened the ledge. Rustling sounded from the back for a few moments before he met me at my door and carefully propped it open, offering me a hand.
Hesitantly, I slid mine into his and allowed him to pull me out. He didn’t drop my hand, even when my feet were firmly on the ground, and I found that I didn’t want him to. My emotions were all over the place. Once we reached the bed of his truck, that’s when he dropped my hand. My gaze drifted over the edge, a breath of awe fleeing from my lungs. There were mountains off in the distance and a large body of water beneath us. I didn’t even know this place existed. It was absolutely breathtaking. Tearing my gaze from the scenery, I glanced over at the bed of the truck where Kash had placed the thick blanket down with the throw blanket crumpled on top.
Kash wrapped his hands around my hips and lifted me, gently placing me in the bed of the truck. A gasp of surprise fled my lips but it instantly vanished. The thick blanket was soft beneath my thighs, and I backed up into the bed and leaned my back against the cab. He hoisted himself up and moved to join me, grabbing the throw blanket and placing it over our legs.
“This is beautiful,” I commented. “I can see why you like coming out here.”
He nodded, the side of his leg brushing against mine due to our close proximity. I leaned my head against the cold metal behind us, my gaze lingering on the beautiful scenery before us. He was right. It was peaceful and calming. If I could, I’d stay out here forever. Far away from the real world and away from what awaited me as soon as I returned.
Kash turned to look at me, his jaw feathering with tension. The sun shining down made his face look paler than usual, but he looked as breathtaking as the scenery around us. No longer was there baby fat clinging to the edges of his jaw. Instead, his face was sharp and angular, giving him a rugged appearance paired with his dark blonde hair. He reached out abruptly, making me flinch slightly. His thumb brushed along my bottom lip, causing my breath to catch in my throat. His lip ring glistened beneath the bright lighting shining down on us and I remembered what it had felt like to kiss him.
His chest moved as he took a sharp intake of breath and he moved his hand to the back of my head, winding his fingers through my hair. “Fuck,” he muttered. That was the only warning he gave me before crushing his lips against mine. A startled sound escaped my mouth, bleeding into his. My head spun with a mixture of emotions, my body working overtime to sort through them. Logically, I knew I should be pushing him away. So why was my hand now fisted in his shirt, pulling him closer? Why was I kissing him back with the same ferocity?Maybe I needed this. The sharp metal of his lip ring pressed against my mouth—a stark contrast to how soft his lips were. My hands drifted through his hair, and I jerked, forcing his head to tip back slightly. A hiss poured from his mouth, urging me on.
Warmth spread through my body, the feel of his mouth against mine doing things to my body that I couldn’t even begin to comprehend. The fact of the matter was that things were different between all of us. They might have held some kind of grudge against me, but there was no denying this attraction.
Kash nipped my lower lip, sending a sharp slice of pain through it. My heart was pounding in my chest, but in a much better way than it had been when I thought someone was following me. His hand drifted beneath the blanket, his cold fingers trailing a path up my thigh.
I broke the kiss, a shiver driving through my body due to the dangerous path his fingers had taken. We were both breathing heavily, everything else long forgotten. It hadn’t been that long ago when I’d rejected him, and now…here I was, silently begging him not to stop. My lips dropped to the side of his neck, and I allowed my teeth to graze against his skin there. A shudder racked through him, and he quickened his movements, moving his hand between my legs in a jerky action. When he managed to slip his fingers beneath my panties, he didn’t even hesitate, driving two of them right into my throbbing pussy.
A moan fell from my lips, but I kept kissing up his neck, my hands still tangled in his hair. His fingers were long, brushing against a spot deep inside me that had my body going rigid with pleasure.
“Fuck, Kash,” I moaned out. “Don’t stop.” I started moving my hips, bucking up against his hand to gain more friction.
A low, possessive growl rumbled from his chest. He turned his head, capturing my lips again. His grip was firmly in my hair while he used his other hand to pump his fingers in and out ofme. My hands dropped to the sides of his face, and I deepened the kiss, allowing my tongue to sweep through his parted lips which he accepted greedily. He was acting like he had something to prove. Like he wanted to ruin me for any man that came before him. His kiss alone was doing a good job of that. It was needy, primal, desperate. He quickened his pace, slamming his fingers deep inside me. A scream erupted from my throat and my back arched. I needed him so damn badly.
As if sensing this, he broke the kiss and withdrew his fingers from my aching core. “I have to be inside you.” His eyes were dilated, and his face was flushed with desire. He grabbed my cardigan and jerked it from my shoulders. The cool air kissed along my skin, eliciting a series of goosebumps.
“C-condom?” I choked out.
He shook his head. “Don’t have one.” He didn’t seem to care about that fact though, because he was tearing my panties from my hips in the next breath, tossing them over the edge of his truck and letting them fall to the ground. “I’mnotstopping,” he growled.
My breath caught in my throat, but my logic had jumped out the window a long time ago. I was just as desperate for him as he seemed to be for me. I didn’t wait for him to make any further moves; I was throwing the blanket from my legs instantly and crawling toward him. I hooked my fingers in his waistband and jerked his pants and boxers down his thighs, letting them pool around his ankles. My gaze caught on his massive erection and my breath stuttered out. He had to have the biggest dick I’d ever seen. Not only was it long, but it had a nice girth to it, too.
I didn’t let that deter me for long, though. I wrapped my fingers around him, making him hiss out in either pleasure or because my hand was cold. Skipping the foreplay altogether, I climbed on his lap with a knee on either side of him. He was kicking his shoes off, followed by his pants, not caring that hisclothing was now discarded on the ground. I lined him up with my center and sank down on him, my breath catching for the millionth time as he stretched me out.
“Goddamnit, Everleigh. You’re so wet.” His hands tightened around my waist, and I placed mine on his shoulders, using the momentum to force myself down even further until he was all the way inside me. I rolled my hips, allowing his crown to hit an extremely deep spot inside of me. His eyes rolled and his head thumped back against the cabin of his truck. “And tight,” he forced out through labored breathing. “Your pussy is choking the fuck out of me.”
