His hands were in my hair.

On my tits.

On my ass.

Until I finally shattered with a cry.

He hauled me off the floor and carried me to our bedroom as I came down from the high. Still buried inside me, he wasn’t anywhere near done—and neither was I.

He dropped to the mattress on his back, and I laughed breathlessly at the rush as we fell together. My tits crashed into his chest, and his lips curved wickedly as he kissed me again, lightly.

“You’re so fucking gorgeous, Avery.”

“So are you.” I kissed him back, matching his sweet little peck with my own even though what we were doing was nowhere near soft and playful.

He chuckled, and his chest rumbled against mine. “Have your way with me, woman. I want to hear you scream my name.”

I laughed, even though he was right. “I don’t know if you can hold back that long right now.”

He smacked my ass lightly. “I know how you can find out.”

“I have a better idea.” I leaned closer to his lips, dragging my hand through his hair before I set my hand on his throat. His body went still, and I whispered against his lips, “I love you, Talon. You are mine.”

The magic burned through us both, and he flipped me onto my back as he drove into me hard.

“You’re everything to me, Ave,” he growled, as we both reached our edge. Between the sex and the bond’s magic, there was no way to hold back. And even if there was, I didn’t want to.Wedidn’t want to.

We finally shattered together, my scream of pleasure mingling with his roar as we found our release together.

Whatever else happened, there was no going back now.

And even if there was, I wouldn’t have wanted it.

AVERY

We didn’t makeit down to the prison that night. We could’ve—but we didn’t want to.

Instead, we threw some popcorn in the microwave and watched a movie in bed together. We didn’t actuallywatchmost of the movie, but neither of us minded that.

Talon kept grinning, which made me feel like a million bucks. The way he carried himself was totally different. Like he’d been hauling a weight on his shoulders, and it had finally been taken off.

Part of me had been worried he would get angrier or meaner when the bond was complete. But without the stress of rejection hanging over his shoulders, he just seemed calmer.

Instead of going back to his office the next morning, we headed to Mistwood. I had never seen the inside of Dragon Manor, and we both wanted to bring the rest of my stuff back to the castle anyway. It would probably take a few trips, but we both enjoyed flying too much to mind.

Blair and Hale met us near the vampires’ security checkpoint, and she threw her arms around me for a massive hug that I returned with a wide smile.

Out of all my sisters, Blair was the one I had been closest to before all of the mating drama happened. Back then, it had been because she needed the most support. She had struggled so much with what we were, and the way we fed.

Now that we were both mated, I was curious to find out whether or not we would get that close again. Only time would tell.

When Blair offered to help me pack the rest of my stuff, Hale offered Talon a tour of Vamp Manor. My mate didn’t seem thrilled by the idea, but he looked much less worried about leaving me than he had been before we were mated.

Now, he knew I was safe.

And that I was his.
