“All of it?” Asher presses, looking at Andrei with an expression full of desperation.

Andrei seems to think for a moment. “Well, at least the parts about Chloe. The rest of the shit… Like how that prophet is both a vampire and a witch, is still a fucking mystery to me.”

“Goddammit!” Asher roars at the ceiling. “This can’t be fucking happening!”

EPILOGUE

RAPHAEL

Driving back to the lodge, I’m beyond fucking exhausted.

Alena riding on my lap is the only thing helping me focus on staying awake.

The past few weeks have been hell, to say the least.

Thankfully, Dav and his pack were there for us. He not only had our back at the church, but he even had a chunk of his guys protecting Ambrose and the house.

Ambrose isn’t doing well, but he’s alive.

Coming up the driveway, it’s weird to see a group of men and women climbing all over the house. They’re securing plywood to the holes in the roof and nailing them over the missing windows.

“Fuck,” I say to Asher. “How much do we owe the pack?”

“I don’t know,” Asher says as he puts the car in park. “Dav asked me to help him remove the rest of that rival pack after we took out Nikolaos’s coven, but that’s it. We owe him far more than that. Far more.”

“Whatever he wants,” I say, and start moving out of the car with Alena in my arms. “I’m there for him.”

As we’re walking up the front steps, a sandy-haired man comes up to shake Asher’s hand. “Few more holes left to fix andwe’ll be out of here. We have some guys coming in to take over watch duty in about half an hour.”

“You have our thanks,” Asher says. “What can we do for you guys?”

The sandy-haired man grins. “Actually, if you could order a ton of pizza for the day shift guys, that would be awesome.”

I can’t help but laugh. “They’ll get that and more. You on the night shift?”

“Yeah.” He points to the woods. “Most of us here are.”

I smile. “I’ll get you more pizza than you can eat and beer to go with it.”

Then I walk into the house with Alena.

The ceiling in the main room has been patched up. It’s not a permanent fix, but it will do until we find a new house. Dav said he has a couple of properties in mind that we could move into within the next week. And the best part is they’re firmly within his territory of the city.

“Are wolves and vampires always like this?” Alena asks curiously.

“We used to be. In the old days, a pack would protect a coven during the day. And a coven would protect a pack at night. But shit got funky during the Witch Wars,” I explain.

She nods before asking, “Can we check on Ambrose before we go to bed? I want to make sure my favorite brother is okay.”

Fuck. If he’s her favorite brother, the whole world is fucked in so many ways.

All of a sudden, I hear Fred scream in terror as something slams through my bond with Alena. For a split second, my thoughts go into overload, fearing the prophet is somehow back in our connection.

But then Alena cackles with glee at the look on my face. “Fredricka just went to say hello to her hubby.”

Delving deep inside my soul, I look in and see Fred, my beast, pressed up against a stone wall.

Because a dark shadowy gremlin is poking the poor guy with a clawed finger.
