I bit down with the force of my ancestors. I let the fucker feel me trying to do exactly what Talon and Kage's minds wanted me to. Kage was probably remembering when I bit his butt cheek. I'd make Geo choke on his severed member. His hollering began as he tried to open my mouth to free himself, but I only shook my head in response to keep tearing at it.

"AH!" he began to sob. "Contessa!"

That's when someone else cocked a gun for me to hear, pointing it behind Kage's head in challenge. Ugh, I let go, but I drew blood, and he wasn't hard anymore. Geo held his manhood, cursing at me in his language. "You're the second dick I've broke. Watch yourself around me because I am the Penis Slayer."

They didn’t need to know my first was an accident. I just needed them learn I wouldn’t be broken so easily.

"You're also about to be why this one dies." The new guy called my attention his way. By his age and nonchalant attitude, I could tell this was the head of the family.

"And yet no one has told us why we're here. The Cleaner scrubbed your murder, so it wasn't him who got your guy arrested." I arched my manicured brow. I'd seriously been lucky because I did my self care right before being kidnapped.

"My guy? Dante is my son,Casso!"

"At least I'm calling you names in a language we all understand. I don't need to hide anything that comes out of my mouth. Now, get to the point, prick!"

This dude nodded for Contessa to remove Talon's gag. He only addressed him, and pretended I was a woman to be seen not heard. "You left evidence that the feds are linking to Dante."

"What?" Talon waited to hear.

"Blood. There was blood from two of the people killed. They know the bodies were there right beside my son's blade with his prints and their blood on it."

"There's no way! I cleaned it then put pig's blood over it before cleaning it again! I also destroyed anything in the air, Valentino. I. Left. Nothing. I also sent you pictures, and your guy signed off on it! The weapon wasn't there to begin with! Someone's framing me."

Valentino let his body hunker over Talon's face. "My guy never returned after meeting with you.”

"And he wasn't your first red flag?" Talon made a solid point.

"I trust my men," Valentino growled. “I got a strange call from someone saying the same thing a few hours ago, but I’m starting to believe it was just to give you time to escape. Two of my men are out trying to see if they can find his corpse, but we all know how good you are at making them disappear."

"It wasn't me," Talon said with a straight face, showing his honesty, but Valentino didn't care.

"I'm giving them until tomorrow afternoon to find his body or evidence, so I can know I killed the right enemy. If not, I'm still killing all of you then. This might go faster if you just tell me what you did with his body."

Jesus, this was about to be a long night. A white jacket rushed by us, so I snorted that the doctor had been called to fixthe broken dick. Valentino turned his glare my way. "I'll be starting with her."

Fuck.

Chapter 28

Leopold

"Are you sure you can handle this?" I asked her through the com I gave her. We didn't sleep much last night to get everything ready.

"Ugh. Stop asking. I've played every sexual role known to man, and I even did porn a few times. I live and breathe my current character. Have you already forgotten my performance from last night?" Luce slowly walked the sidewalk outside the Carnelli home. We put a camera on her shirt that hid in one of her undone buttons. It was so small, they'd miss it completely.

"No, I remember, but I'm not in close proximity to save you if something goes wrong. These are the real monsters Jamie worked for, Luce."

"And I'm the biggest bitch this world has ever seen. I know how to protect myself, or did you forget my origin story already?" None of us would forget what she mentioned about her mother trying to sell her, so I changed the subject.

"Just remember what I said when it comes to planting the things needed for this to work," I warned and worried.

"How did you manage to kidnap Vic with your nerves?" She made a sad sound. "Yes, Leo. I can't have it on camera. I know what I need to do, and I have my papers to declare my lineage mixes. I got this more than you do, buddy."

"I didn't kidnap Vicki," I admitted. "I drove the getaway van, but I wasn't scared when we did hers. I'm terrified because this is her life on the line. If my plan isn't foolproof, if there's one flaw in the execution..."

"I'm almost to the point they'll see my lips moving on their exterior cameras. Look, Victoria is my world. She's my family. No one will ever hurt what's mine. I can do this riding a unicycle and juggling. You don't know me, but you're about to trust me forever."

She stopped talking at the spot we knew a camera turned. Her demure changed, knowing she had a part to play. I watched through their cameras and the one I had on her chest. My hands placed the camera on her top before she put it on because I respected Vicki. Her chest was the only one I wanted my hands on.
