I stroked her belly, which had grown round and tight with the amount of cream I’d given her.

“That’s just part of a Deep Seeding, baby,” I assured her. “It’s going to look almost like you have a little baby bump for a few days.”

“A few days? Really?” Her eyes went wide.

“Uh-huh.” I nodded. “Once I pull out of you, the compounds in my cum will seal your womb and it’ll take some time for your body to absorb everything I gave you. That also increases the chances of you getting pregnant.”

Her eyes went soft at the idea.

“I hope I have a little boy and he looks just like you.”

“I’d love that.” I smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead. She was so precious to me—so perfect and beautiful. I couldn’t believe I got to call her mine for the rest of our lives!

“Oh, Turk…” she sighed happily. “This is all so perfect…but I feel like we skipped some things.”

“What things, baby?” I asked, frowning.

“Well, for one thing, I thought you were tried and sent to jail,” she said. “Did you…you didn’t escape, did you?”

“No, I didn’t escape because I was never convicted. Iwasput on trial, though,” I said grimly. “But I didn’t go to jail thanks to the witnesses who came to speak for me.”

“Who were they?” Jessina’s eyes flashed with interest.

“Snuffy…Yorrin…and believe it or not, Slade,” I told her.

“Really? He came to speak for you?” She smiled. “I’m so happy! I’ll have to tell him thank you next time I see him.”

“He only did it for you—not me,” I said. “And he gave me this for ‘touching his little sister.’” I rubbed my jaw where Slade had punched me. I was going to have a nice bruise there—not that I cared.

“Oh no—did hehityou?” Her eyes went wide as she examined the area more closely.

“Don’t worry—I would have hit me too, in his place,” I told her. “And anyway, what he said convinced the judge to let me go. Though Ididhave to stay for a while and witness against Gurflug.”

“What?” Jessina exclaimed. “So he was on trial too? Tell me all about it!”

I explained how Snuffy had brought the visual log from the Bridge which showed how the big Galafruxian had tried to kill us all by jumping us into an asteroid field.

“The whole courtroom was all amazed when they saw you navigate us out of that mess,” I told her, giving her a proud smile.

Her light brown cheeks went dark with a blush but she lifted her chin proudly.

“Good! It’s about time people knew that a woman can navigate as well as a man.”

“Baby, you navigatebetterthan any man I’ve seen,” I told her frankly. “In fact, I never want to fly with any other navigator again.”

Her eyes widened.

“Do you mean that? You’d fly with me again?”

“If I’m still Captain of The Illyrian once this is all over,” I told her. “I guess we’ll have to wait and see how things play out. My Chieftain and his wife were at the Binding Ceremony and I noticed that they seemed really affected by the smoke. So I guess it depends on how he feels about that.”

“A lot of people were affected—did you see Pria and Rath?”

I frowned at the mention of one of my other best friend’s name. Rath was part of our “Cross Clan Crew” as Slade had dubbed us. His horns were painted silver—showing his high rank in his Clan and the fact that his Chieftain had marked him as the most trusted member of her inner circle. Having silver horns was a great honor—one accorded to very few.

“What was he doing with her?” I asked, feeling suddenly worried for my friend.

“Just kissing her.” Jessina’s eyes went warm and dreamy. “Butwhata kiss. I could tell by how gentle he was being that he really cherishes her. And she was kissing him back,” she added. “The two of them were really wrapped up in ceah other.”
