“On the train? To Nice?”
“Enzo and I both.” I start talking fast, knowing this has to happen. “We could get a private booth. Upstairs.”
She looks at me dubiously.Enzo too?I can hear her thinking. But she smiles a small, shy smile. “Won’t Ash have something to say about that plan?”
“Not if he’s enjoying Cami’s presence and wants to enjoy more of it.”
“Hmm, good point.” She bites that luscious bottom lip and puts a hand on her hip. “Okay.” She combs her hair with her fingers then pulls it back into a short ponytail with a band she magically produces from her wrist. “You and Enzo with us on the train. Keep an eye on me. I hope for the best on the plane, or lock myself in the toilets. Then we’ve got a train back home.” I can see her calculating. “I’ll talk to Ash about Cornwall and Ronan. I have video interviews starting Tuesday. If I can get down there to talk to him …”
She trails off. This seems like an impossible quest. But I can tell she’s determined to try, and I love her for it. I feel like Ronan and I just don’t see eye to eye and nothing we say does anything but bounce off the other’s frustration.
I want my pack brother back. I want our Omega safe.
But on top of these desires, I want to support her newfound confidence, and help her see that she is the key to this pack. Because I believe that with all of my heart. If Briella Phillips can’t open us all back up again, no one can.
CHAPTER 26
Briella
It’s1:30 in the morning when I open the door of Cami’s and my hotel room to Grayson Cove, leaning with one arm against the door frame, looking like a hungry wolf who wants to eat me up.
And bloody hell, am I ready for more. Slick is starting to soak my fresh panties, so I squeeze my legs together briefly and try to ignore it for the moment.
“Hello, beautiful,” he murmurs as I pull him into the room. He drops his bag. Clearly he hasn’t been back to his room, a fact which heats up my already blazing core with a honey sensation. My hair’s damp from my shower but I’m wide awake.
“Hi, gorgeous,” I whisper and bury my face in his chest, arms wrapped around him. He peels off his jacket and drops this.
“I see Ash hooked you two up nicely.”
I nod, gesturing around the room.
“Here we have two queen beds, sweeping sea-view, and plenty of room for activities without risk of potential onlookers. She’s in his room.”
I enjoy watching Gray’s eyes go wide and his smile matches mine. “Good for them.”
“And good for us,” I say.
I pull him to the edge of the bed where I proceed to remove his shoes, socks, and shirt, leaving him there in his trousers.
“Take the rest off for me, s’il vous plait.”
“You know we’re in Spain now, right?” he asks, obliging with a grin.
“I’m always a little behind the times,” I admit.
As he tries to huck his trousers onto the pile of his other clothes, he shifts into a more somber expression, then reaches out. I take his hand as he pulls me onto his lap on the end of the bed. I’m wearing an old t-shirt and cut-off sweats I sleep in. The least sexy outfit one could wear when finally sleeping with the man of their dreams, but in my defense, I didn’t believe it would ever happen.
“I have some annoying news.”
I nod and suck in my lip, waiting for the shoe-drop. But I’m sitting on his lap with his erect cock pressing into me, so whatcanI say?
“Between the time you arrived and, shall we say, distracted me for the better, and now, Willow has tried to call me three times and we had a text fight. She’s getting a lawyer.”
“Fuck her,” I say softly but firmly.
“My reaction was fuckoff, but I told her to go ahead. Pretty sure it’s a bluff. Not sure what she wants to accomplish by threatening us, though.”
I sigh shakily. I was a fool to think she’d go so easily. “What’s her claim?”
