LOIS
I’ve formulated a master plan.
That’s not normally something I’d do, to be honest that’s a job I’d usually pass onto Callie or Molly, they’re definitely more devious than me. But this feels like my responsibility and I'm determined to force Sean and Nick to kiss and make up before Sean's wedding in less than a month. I did ask Callie’s thoughts on said master plan and she was 100% on board, well, more than on board she actually squealed with excitement. There’s nobody in the world who loves pissing off my brother more than Callie Burch and I’m fucking here for it.
We had to wait until Saturday to set the plan in motion. Lily is with her grandad and Kyle was able to lure Sean to our dorm room with the promise that Nick was not going to be there — spoiler alert he is on his way, but he doesn’t have a clue what’s about to happen either.
Sean arrives around 6pm and I know Nick is almost here too, so with a wink from Callie across the room I set the plan into motion, fast.
“Sean, can you check the door on my wardrobe before you go, I think the hinge is loose and it keeps wobbling every time I open it.” I say, keeping my eyes gooey and innocent.
He nods, scraping a hand through his curls. “Erm, yeah sure, give me five minutes.”
His tall frame vanishes around the bend of the hallway and I hear my bedroom door squeak open, just as Nick walks through the front door.
I grab him like we haven’t seen each other in months, pressing a kiss to his lips as fast as I can to avoid him opening his big mouth and alerting Sean to the fact that he’s here.
I lift up onto my tiptoes and wrap my arms around his neck, hugging him tight and whispering into his ear, “Go to my room, I’ll meet you there in a minute.” I flash him a wink as I break away from his embrace.
His cheeks are pink from the wind outside, or maybe he’s blushing about the fact I’ve just practically pushed his face between my legs in front of all of our friends.
He swallows hard, nods nervously with a skimmed glance around the room and then scurries off down the hallway without a word. Callie waits stealthily in Molly’s doorway that’s located next door to mine. The moment Nick slips into my bedroom Callie yanks the door closed, twisting the key and locking the boys in there together. The banging and demands of release start only seconds later, the moment they realise what’s happening the volume of their voices can most definitely be heard three streets over.
“Open this door now Callie, I mean it!” Sean’s voice is rough and deep, demanding in a way I’ve never heard it before, but Callie’s face twists into a knowing smirk.
“Or what Taylor?”
He sighs loudly. “This isn’t funny Callie, open the door, now!”
“Actually, I think I'm good, see you boys in a couple of hours.” She sings, sauntering off down the hallway with a triumphant grin spread across her face.
I press my palms against the door and speak clearly. “You two need to figure things out and if you can’t do it willingly then you can both stay in there until you find a way to move forward.” Then I soften my voice, only for Nick. “Nick, I'm sorry but it’s for the best. I want you two to be friends again and I can’t stand this animosity any longer, so see you both in a couple of hours.”
No response comes from the other side of the door, no more yelling profanities or even mumbled curses. Sean and Nick know that Callie and I don’t fuck around. They likely accepted pretty quickly that they had no way out of this trap that they walked into so easily.
I feel like an evil genius and when I waltz casually back into the living room, I'm met with Callie’s devilish smirk.
“They’re going to be so mad at us later you know,” she smiles, her green eyes flashing with enjoyment. “Luckily they’re both whipped enough to get over it with a quick blow job or whatever.”
“Ok, ew,” I scrunch my nose in disgust, a shiver running over my whole body at the current image that resides in my brain. “I really don’t need to picture you and my brother having sex, it was bad enough having to listen to it the other week.”
Callie’s head spins to face me, her eyes narrowed. “Wait, what?”
“Nothing,” I smile to myself, pulling the fridge open and making myself comfortable on the sofa for the next couple of hours.
I yank the curtains closed in the living room, its now 8:15pm and the house is eerily still and quiet. Callie is asleep on the couch, her knees tucked into her chest and her curls splayed out around her head like sunshine. I throw a blanket over her and head down the hallway towards my bedroom. I press my ear against the wood and listen carefully. I hear a muffled conversation, but it sounds pleasant enough. The fiery heat of anger is no longer exuding through the door and burning my cheek like it did when we first locked the boys in there over two hours ago.
I tap my fist lightly and twist the key, pushing open my squeaky door. I peer cautiously around the door and spot the two of them in one corner of my bedroom. Sean sits on my desk chair, leaning back with a grin, while Nick sits on the edge of my bed, elbows on his knees. Both sets of eyes land on me, the two of them with a glint of mischief sparkling in their irises.
“I’m sorry,” I say, jutting out my bottom lip and placing both palms together in prayer. “I just wanted you guys to make up.”
Sean’s laugh rings in my ears, making my heart beat harder. “It’s fine Lo, we get it.” He glances down at where Nick still sits on the edge of my bed. “Plus, your little plan worked so you can relax. Andersen and I are all good.”
The way my lungs expand is like a dose of heroin. My body immediately buzzes with relief that they didn’t rip each other’s heads off, but that they actually made up. I need to know everything, all the details of what they talked about, how the fuck Nick got Sean to come around to idea of me and him. But that’s a conversation for later, all I want to do right now is squeeze Nick so hard that we end up super glued together forever.
Sean passes my smiling face and plants a fleeting kiss against my reddened cheek. “I’m glad to see you happy Lo,” he whispers, ruffling my curls as he passes through my bedroom door, closing it behind him.
I couldn’t get the beaming grin off my face even if I wanted to and when Nick finally stands up, his tattoos flexing against his skin, I practically dive on him.
